They could have just built a monster creator on DDB that you could only access it you own the DMG.

3.0 was superior although it took me years to realize it. It plays closer to the style of AD&D. The spells have more flavor and it is not a tactical grid nightmare that 3.5 became. I really wish you could get the 3.0 PDFs. I, stupidly, got rid of most of my 3e books.

It is sitting on my shelf now. :P

HK-47 predates high republic so we know that droid tech can be better. B-1 battle droids were just a companies generic brand.

Last time I used cartoony, I got an epic rant on ENWorld about using that term. It is difficult to find terms to describe not liking the art without getting folks who love it on this site dogpiling you for a preference.

Thank you. I do not like the art. It just seems off to me. I also detest art like Steven Universe and Be Cool Scooby Doo. I just think this new style feels incomplete or hazy. It does not evoke playing D&D to me. Luckily, I do not buy the books to look at the art. I just know I do not like it.

I am just not a fan of the 5.5 style of art. It all look digital or tweeny.

They were used a lot in older editions, especially 2e.

I have never seen anyone want to play an Orc. The only times anyone has chosen half-orc was due to mechanics. They wanted the bonuses. This included the WoW fans that were in my games at the height of WoW. I just do not get the Orc love. I think it will be interesting to see the stats on Orcs...

I would have preferred that Gnoll became a core species before Orc.

I played both a Wemic and a Flind in 2e. The Wemic was a War Cleric and the Flind was a Pit Fighter.

My 3e campaign world had a Gnoll Empire. They were not demonic although the empire was LE to NE and always looked to conquer their neighbors. I do not like the demonic angle.

I use Shard Tabletop and DDB.

Because if you use the points of light style game or start out in the fringe/boonies, then you end up creating something special to accommodate a single class. A lot of games start in these types of areas.

I, too, detest Monks and have since 3e. For me, I had to rename all their abilities and rework the class to take away the eastern themes and make them more generic.
