The Essentials Human (wild mass guessing)

Isn't there a sidebar or something explaining that their bonus at-wills loses the "augmentable" keyword and cannot be augmented? Or if not a sidebar, and explanation in the psionic at-will rules? Couldn't you have a similar notice for the essentials knight and similiar builds ("if you have a...

The Essentials Human (wild mass guessing)

Couldn't they just add a note for the Essential fighter (or other similar classes) that humans get a third stance, instead of an at-will attack power? I think they did something similar with PHB3 when they introduced psionics, where they had (I believe) a sidebar explaining how it interacts...

Tips to create and play an effective druid?

I played a level 8 druid in a one-off and it worked very well. Standard elven predator druid, no fancy tricks. Savage Rend, Grasping Tide, and Swarm of Locusts gave me lots of options with at-wills (slides, prone, and combat advantage, two AOE's). I also got a lot out of the encounter powers...

    Method 3's average character

Ah yes, that's it! Considering my failure to join the actual, you know, fight, I'm reminded of Groucho's famous line (somewhat reworked). "I don't care to belong to any adventuring party that would have me as a member."

    Method 3's average character

Oh yeah, exactly. See, in my group's session today, we raided a bandit tower. The Airsoul Genasi Swordmage used his encounter fly power to get on top of the tower. My Human Taclord character tried climbing up the vines on the outside, but kept failing the last climb check to get over the...

    Zone on fire kills minions?

And Nail hits it on the head. (Sorry, too easy?) :p Minions have 1 hp because that makes sense during fights with PCs of similar levels. Outside of combat with PCs they can have as many hp or whatever as the DM wants (assuming what they are doing outside of combat matters to the game session).

monk preview: another expertise feat - talk about stealth errata!

Actually, the Playtest Monk gets this as a class feature. For reals. It's called "Mental Equilibrium" which gives +1/+2/+3 Fort at 1st/11th/21st levels. It's part of the "Centered Breath" build the playtest provides, which is a Dex/Wis build (i.e. had Fort as the Weakest FRW). Double stealth...

Solos, Status Effects, and a House Rule

@ Morgan_Scott82: Thoughtful post, and I like the powers you gave Klang (nice names too:)). However, most DMs don't write all their Solo's from scratch. So I think there's a lot of value in what Elric is trying to do, which is create a houserule those DMs can apply to their Solos to help with...

Solos, Status Effects, and a House Rule

Perhaps a solution along those lines wouldn't be too difficult? You could simply give a save at the start of the solo's turn against dazed, dominated, immobilized, restrained, and stunned conditions. You could maybe or maybe not add blinded and weakened to that list. This would avoid the...
