RPG purchases you know you'll never use

Sailor Moon RPG and Werewolf:The Apocolpyse 2nd Ed. Talk about a combo! Now I'm not going to get a chance to use my Deadlands book, as the guy who was running it in my group has bowed out due to school conflicts. *sigh*

    3e Keep on the Borderlands?

I put it in the mountains north of Waterdeep. Gave the PC's a major city they could travel to within a tenday, and still be aways away from very powerful people. I also modified the keep somewhat so that it became somewhat like Hommlet, as I was planning on using the Temple in my campaign...

    New Feat: Feint

Re: It's amazingly easy! Ahh, you added them as new skills. I understood your post to mean that you somehow set it up so that Fighters would be able to put points specifically into that aspect of Bluff & Sense Motive.

    New Feat: Feint

Re: Or... How do you add a partial skill to a list? That adds all sorts of unnecessary complications to the list. OTOH, If I ever get off my duff and work on my re-do of the skills to allow for specializations in skills, that might be something doable....

    Planar Census Takers

I don't think infant mortality would be affected much. Most children don't die of hit point damage, or fatal injuries. Lots of infants just seem to not wake up. :( Not a lot most clerics are going to be able to do about that. I can't see your typical priest casting raise dead on a 2 day old...

    New Feat: Feint

Re: Re: Re: Re: New Feat: Feint And against those opponents too agile for the fighter to hit, it may be his best option. Just like powerattacking a high AC opponent that you can only hit on 20 anyway.... Agreed. I was thinking +3/+3, since it's a specialized feat applying to only...

    New Feat: Feint

Re: Re: New Feat: Feint I've played fighters that would have loved to have been able to be able to negate the dex of an opponent. Getting around the defenses of a rogue is a nice thing to be able to do. I'm sure others have wanted to be able to do it as well, since I've seen many people...

    New Feat: Feint

Since Bluff is a cross-class skill for fighters, yet the art of the feint is a standard tactic in combat, I thought that there should be something available for fighters to show their potential. I based it off of the Combat Casting feat, but applied a prerequisite that requires some skill at...

9th level wizard: Which spells to take ?

Re: Re: 9th level wizard: Which spells to take ? For damage, this is about the only 5th level spell, but Transmute Rock to Mud is also a good one. No direct damage, but it can immobilize opponents, PLUS it allows you to make your own passages, which is an excellent ability to have in the...

Question: Bite + Con Poison = Dead

Or surprised. Or exploring....PC's, especially lower level PC's, rarely know every opponent they will be facing.

    [MotW] Hasted Frienzied Berzerker?!?

Because if you've got a speed weapon + speed weapon, you have two weapons, and (at least) two hands? Both of them are being sped up to allow for an additional attack. Haste, your reactions are a tad quicker, allowing you to do one additional thing, move OR attack.

    Milwaukee Journal Sentinel GenCon article

The one thing that I've always had a problem with is that GenCon is ALWAYS at the time the State Fair is. Or at least it has been the last six years, when I started going. I don't know if they didn't want to hold it later, when more kids might be in school, or if there were other reasons not...

When does Fire Shield burn you?

Both of you were correct, actually. You are correct for 1st Ed, but for 2nd Ed, it was toned down to an equal amount of damage. 3rd has kind of nerfed it, IMO. 8-13 pts of damage at 7th level, without protecting you from damage at all? For a 4th level spell? Kind of lame...

    Divine Favor and Persistent Spell

It makes perfect sense when you realize it's a holdover from 1st/2nd Edition, where Timestop stopped the flow of time *for* those affected, leaving the caster unaffected. Thus, Elminster could not be trapped in a field of stopped time. When 3rd Edition came around, the spell was altered to...
