Well, I haven't used it in my campaings lately, but I've always portrayed it as a ranching town, ie lots of cattle, sheep, horses being bought and sold there. Throw in a few American Old West-style conflicts, and there ya go....

In the campaign I used it in, the paladin got blinded; he took a FRA to try and clean it, but I told him it would provoke an AoE. He took it, and got killed by the AoE (critical hit).

XP is gained for overcoming a challenge; if the spell was cast to overcome a challenge, they get whatever their share of XP is for that challenge.
As I recall it, doesn't the spell allow you to wash your eyes out to regain sight? Or was that something I added into the spell?
