Peh. Bards are really OK on 25 points buy. Your spell DC's will be moderate, not higher, so most of your spells should be self/other buff. That's a perfectly reasonable way to choose spells. Unless you play an "enchanter" bard (in which case your will be blowing all your feats on spell focus...
