Well, I suppose I now have a pseudonym should I ever decide to switch professions. :D -tRR

    "Laming up" non-compound monster names!

That's it, I quit! This thread has officially caused me to give up playing Dungeons & Dragons forever. From this day forth my only game of choice shall be DeepDwellings & LootLizards, PostThirdPreFifth Edition. I've already got my DonkeyHorse (at Paragon level it upgrades to a Wildmind...

    Mouse Guard, Anyone?

I finally got to run my one shot adventure this past weekend via Fantasy Grounds and Skype. It was, by all accounts, a rousing success (though the same could not be said of their mission) and plans are currently underway for an actual campaign. The Patrol mice for this adventure were: Lukis...

    Mouse Guard, Anyone?

I enjoyed reading your impressions of the game, level1gamer. I hope you get the chance to play it soon. I've recently put together a ruleset for Fantasy Grounds and will soon introduce a few friends to the world of Mouse Guard using it and Skype. It's a oneshot adventure, but part of my...

    Mouse Guard, Anyone?

I'd hate to see this thread derailed on a matter of semantics, especially considering both camps are essentially correct. Yes, it is true you play mice. But it is also true that the game is not about being mice. The game is about being heroes tasked with keeping the roads safe and the...

    Trojan in Character Builder?

I've tried to download the free demo of the Character Builder at WotC's site, but my McAfee keeps detecting a trojan in the file and immediately deletes it. Anyone else have this problem? -tRR

    KotS treasure

I think your chart is a bit off. Running through levels 1-3 should net you: 1x level 2 2x level 3 3x level 4 3x level 5 2x level 6 1x level 7 That gives you the 12 magic items you mentioned. Also, I went through KotS today for this very purpose and found the following levels of magic items...

    Four Whines and a Funeral

For me, this. I don't mind microtransactions and I don't mind monthly subscriptions. What I do mind is having them both mixed together. Chocolate and peanut butter this ain't. -tRR

    Second Rat Games: Background Noise

Perhaps not so goofy. According to Wikipedia, there are two types of tundra: Arctic tundra and alpine tundra. Alpine tundra is based on altitude and can exist pretty much anywhere you have mountains high enough. -tRR

    DDI - vMinis are Extra?

Just to throw another element into the discussion... If I am setting up an encounter with 4 goblin minions, do I have to purchase four goblin vMinis separately or will I be able to clone the one goblin I purchased four times? How far is WotC taking the simulation of real world objects? -tRR

the new D&D cosmology: common knowledge to inhabitants?

I was curious if the new cosmology (the Feywild, Shadowfell, Far Realms, etc.) is common knowledge for the average joe in a campaign setting using default D&D assumptions. Is this something taught in "Sunday School" in every temple and shrine or is this information known only to a few learned...

KotS: exploring by room or by area? **spoilers**

I'm contemplating something similar (I'm planning to build the dungeon layout electronically via Inkscape, print it out on cardstock, mount it on foamcore, and then trim off the excess foamcore so that only the dungeon remains). Doing this though makes me inclined toward revealing the whole...

KotS: exploring by room or by area? **spoilers**

With 4E's move to describing dungeons by area instead of room, I'm curious how DMs reveal encounter areas to their PCs once combat starts: do you lay out the entire encounter area or just what the PCs can reasonably see? I can see how knowledge of the surrounding layout could alter tactics...

virtual minis: multiple purchases of same creature?

Has anything been stated as to whether the purchase of a particular creature "unlocks" that model for unlimited use (so that we can have many instances of a creature in play at one time) or whether the purchase will allow only one instance (requiring multiple purchases for, say, a swarm of...

    GameSpy Reviews D&D Insider

What I think the character models need are ground shadows to anchor the models onto the background image. The lack of a shadow causes them to appear to be superimposed on the background instead of a part of it. -tRR

Opinion wanted: playing a cleric using the druid's spell list

At first blush it doesn't quite match my character's concept (your class seems based more on an intellectual interest in nature), but I'll take a look at what you've created. Thanks for the link! -tRR

Opinion wanted: playing a cleric using the druid's spell list

This was pretty much my line of thinking as well. It may be a little underpowered but it fits my character's concept better, which to me is more important. -tRR

Opinion wanted: playing a cleric using the druid's spell list

I'm not looking for specific features so much as color and theme. In truth, I'm happy with the cleric class, I just want the spells that are cast to be more evocative of someone tied to nature. -tRR
