Could Wizards ACTUALLY make MOST people happy with a new edition?

I think they could but its going to take 10 years of planing and playtesting. You would have to make it "compatible" with all editions and modular. The core rules should be very basic like OD&D then you have supplements add in AD&D, 3e, or 4e options. You would need to dual stat monster blocks...

    Interesting Tweet

Well both OD&D and 3rd had a "rules compendium" so that should be easy enough to add to DDI. Old Dungeon and Dragon issues would help it feel like we have more stuff on DDI because you could convert the adventures yourself. Add some agnostic DMs tools and you may start getting more...

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder outselling D&D

This thread pretty much follows my experience. I regularly play with 3 different D&D groups (with some overlap of a couple players). There are 19 of us total, we all bought the 3 core 4e books when it came out. All of us played for a month when one group switch back to 3.5, about 4 months later...

    One-shot to run for novice?

I would buy and shorten Crypt of the Everflame paizo.com - Pathfinder Module: Crypt of the Everflame (PFRPG) its great for new players and a bit of a lark for old timers.

    5e? No Fragin Way!

I would change can to license, Tops is already doing this with Shadowrun and its a good business model for IP that is not part of your core business.

    Making a dangerous, villainous bard

Depending on level I would give him the leadership feat and surround him with minions.

Do you REALLY run settings as "canon"?

Yes and No, if a world has a bunch of books I tend to cherry pick a half dozen of them or less and say these are cannon the rest may or may not come into play.

DM's: How much is enough/too much?

First I make relation ship maps with 8-25 npcs, with their goals, motivations, how they feel about other npcs etc, i worry less about stats but i give them a social, combat, and mental threat rating of 1-5. I write down three things that will happen for tonight game and just insert event when...

Recommend me a few Shadowrun 4E Books

I would probably hold off on Unwired given your choices and what you like. Read the DTRPG reviews before you buy, some books are pretty good others are pretty bad and some are a mixed bag.

    Adventure Path suggestions

It starts out really good but becomes more tradition book 4 or 5 IIRC. We had alot of fun with it.

    D&D 4E Reconsidering Pathfinder over 4E

check out the srd Pathfinder_OGC especially look at feats and spells you knew before, you'll find a lot of good minor changes to them (for example toughness and grease) that either clarify or help to balance them off similar abilities. I think once you dive into pathfinder and learn the changes...

Vampire the Masquerade 20th Edition version

As one who loves historical games I'd rather keep my religion, racism and everything else in. Dark Ages: Vampire, Mage, and Fae are some of my favorite RPGs of all times. Part of the fun was dealing with how people of the 1200s dealt with Jews, Muslims or basically anyone who believed something...

    Tell me about Dragon Age

The RPG reminds me a lot of a lite version of True20 with 3d6 and making interesting mechanics with the 3d6 based on pairs. Its not very crunchy but very enjoyable, especially when GMs let you make up stunts.

    System suggestions for modern horror?

Another vote for nWOD. Big thing to remember is SPEND WILLPOWER! The system is designed that if you want something to happen your supposed to be blowing through your Willpower. Otherwise its like taking 10. Also dont be afraid to start with XP. XP is the new "freebee points" of the old system...

Along with Microsoft, Valve, Nintendo, etc etc which all have employees interested in RPGs.

what he said, though I would have said Dark Ages: Mage but close enough.

    Roleplaying tips for new players.

Ask each player at the end of every session on a scale of 1 to 5 how well did you feel you roleplayed your character and why, examples. Give them XP for it and talk about if you agree with their assessment. Also I like to give out action points if someone does something cool.
