    Knife fighters

I would definitely take TWF, Quick Draw. Also a few levels of rogue for the sneak attack. You could go with short swords. After a blade is 12 inches long it is aq matter of debate over some knives if they are short swords or daggers. You could say they are 18" 'daggers' but actually use short...

    Best race for each class?

Barbarians: Dwarf the con bonus helps and fast movement negates one of the races weaknesses Monk: 1/2 Orc, Dwarf, Human. 1/2 Orcs Str bonus realy helps this class out. the way the game is set up monks really need a high str. Bard: 1/2 elf Sorceror: gnome, elf 1/2ling wizard: same druid: elf...

Monk Feats: 6th level - Improved Trip or Improved Disarm?

Earths Embrace (OA) is great for Adding extra damage, if you are going to grapple anyway. Choke Hold is another good feat, and they work great together. You need Improved Grapple for both of these feats.

    How long is a Greatsword?

I was refering to edge geometry when I talked about axes and razor blades. You can sharpen nearly any blade to shave with if you know what you are doing. If an axe has a flat blade geometry it will dull sooner and the edge will not be as strong. If it has a slight bevel to it then it will retain...

    How long is a Greatsword?

Cedric is ABSOLUTELY correct. Don't be fooled by the weapon discriptions and weights in D&D and video games. This is a sore point with anyone who actualy studied ancient weapons. They simply didn't do any research on the subject, and in regards to D&D the weights of the weapons are totally off...

    Zen Melee

Note The prereqs for this new feat HARNESS CHI are 1. High wisdom 15+ Some STR based monks namely hobgoblins and 1/2 orcs I have seen playing the game wouldn't qualitfy. As they went a STR / DEX route. Perhaps making the requirement 16 would be better? 2. Still mind class ability. This...

Monk feats: 2nd Level - Deflect Arrows or Combat Reflexes?

At least Deflect Arrows is automatic and a free action now. But I still like the ability to have more AoO. More control of my character.

Harness Chi: (As your Chi/Ki is doing the damage, zen would be more appropriate to the attack roll not damage) Pre-Req: Wis 15+, Still Mind Class ability Benifit: Through meditation and clamness you have learned to harness your Chi and can enhance your UNARMED damage only. You no longer use...

1st monk feats: Stunning Fist or Improved Grapple

I voted Improved Grapple. If you are stuck using core rules like I am in a new 3.5 game, it is the better feat. +4 bonus on all grapple attempts is pretty good. (If your looking for a visual grappling does not HAVE to mean wrestling) Wing Chun, Aki Do, Any "Jitsu, Tai Chi, Chin Na, and many...

D&D 3E/3.5 Please Help with 3.5 Spring Attack Feat.

Spring Attack, Improved trip, Spiked Chain (10' reach), Combat reflexes is good too. Spiked chain is an AWESOME non monk, monk weapon. Monks get all the good feats that work well with spiked chains. Well worth spending a feat to learn. I'm starting a elvish monk using this tactic next week...

    Zen Melee

http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59860 I suggested a similar feat in the above thread. (Which is a good read). I would make the feat like this: Harness Chi: (As your Chi/Ki is doing the damage, zen would be more appropriate to the attack roll not damage) Pre-Req: Wis...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Monk Bonus Feats

From my experience in 3.0 and a host of others on this board the high DEX/WIS build leads to what one person called an "inert object" you could not be hit and could not hit. The spring attack chain only made this situation worse, as using it made using FoB impossible (which CAN be usefull...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Monk Bonus Feats

I don't think there is much of a balance issue to pooling the feats and letting the monk choose one. None of them are over powering. I agree I just think that the authors didn't give it much thought. They did make flurry and Ki strike better. I have never thought of monks as weak even in 3.0...

    D&D 3E/3.5 [3.5] Monk Bonus Feats

I'm running a monk with Improved Grapple, Combat reflexes, and Improved trip. Picking up Spiked Chain Prof. SHould be a nice combo.

    Minis with spiked chain?

Does anyone know of any minis that have a character weilding a spiked chain? Preferably a elvish monk. My game store didn't have any and didn't know if they were any made. Could you point me to a place that has it or if you have one to sell let me know, I'll buy it off you. scott "nospam" @...
