Perhaps I am missing your point, but why aren't the 8 tentacles in the octopus case an example of a set of primary weapons? My reading is that the tentacles are the primary weapons, and all remaining natural weapons (e.g. the beak) are secondary. This seems like a much more intuitive reading...
