Recommendations for a new adventure module/path PLEASE!

Dungeon magazine has actually been all-3.5 for some time now. Their Adventure Path looks great from what I've seen so far. The first three chapters are in issues #97, #98, #102. It's also better integrated than the original 3rd edition adventure path.

    circumnavigation module interest?

This sounds like a fun adventure idea, alish2o. I'd definitely be interested. One of my favorite adventure storylines involves a race (sort-of) by ship halfway across the world: "Beyond the Mountains of Madness" from Chaosium spends a large part of the campaign planning the expedition, and then...

Old DM New to High Level Adventures - Help

My campaign is also long-term and high-level, and I can only echo the sound advice given above (and shudder at the mistakes I've made in the past). I have found Piratecat's story hour particularly enlightening: http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?&threadid=779 I also like Monte...

    [dice probability] Is this correct?

Yep, I agree with Kahuna Burger. As I understand 'mode', there are 2 modes when x is odd (and greater than 1). e.g. For 3d6 the modes are 10 and 11, whereas the mean/median is 10.5 The formula for mean/median of xdn is: x(n+1)/2 The mode is the same when x is even. The modes are (mean +...

    DunDraCon: Who's going?

Looking forward to my first Dundracon. I hope to be there for some or all of Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Does anyone know if RPGA events will be played this year? There's nothing on the Dundracon schedule yet, and nothing on the RPGA website.

Have you ever played a fighter-type with an 8 in Strength or Con?

Yes, I have an elven melee ranger with a 6 Con. I don't rate his survival chances too high, but he's still standing so far....

[ENboards Boston Feng Shui Game] Six in the Chamber II: HONG KONG BLOODBATH -UPDATED!

Yeay! Woot! Is Chef Woo still packing potatoes as his primary weapon? And will Willy Wallaby be making a guest reappearance? Inquiring minds want to know. Even my non-gamer, shark-phobic spouse loved the last one! Edit: And great artwork btw Dr M.

    How do you incorproate dreams?

Dragon had an article on Dreamlands in issue 287: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dragon/287/dreamlands The module "Of Sound Mind" had a couple of great mechanics for presenting dream/nightmare sequences. http://www.enworld.rpgshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=15632&

Hayward CA / East Bay -- Looking for long-term r/p oriented 3e campaign.

Hi Heroditis, and welcome (in advance) to the Bay Area! This is a great website that connects gamers in the area: http://www.bayrps.com/ As for gaming stores, your closest is probably Epic Worlds in Castro Valley. Gator Games, just across the bay is also highly recommended...

[OT] KDLadage's First Annual Christmas Limerick Contest! <- WINNERS ANNOUNCED

Count Strahd ate my hamster (This limerick was inspired by Piratecat's GenCon report, wherein a clever druid used a rather unconventional combat technique.... http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?threadid=20546) Should vampire lords swallow or spit? Count Strahd ate my hamster, each...

    Writing your own adventures

Hmmm, I can't think of too many websites or articles. The guidelines in the DMG are excellent. Those in Call of Cthulhu/d20 are even better IMHO, and apply equally well to D&D. The Dungeon magazine submission guidelines also contains some good generic advice (interspersed among the...

    What Dragon Magazines?

Here are details and excerpts from back issues going back to #259: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dragon/backissues I couldn't tell whether you were just interested in 3rd edition? If not then issues #1-#250 on CD-ROM for under $50 represents some of the best value in gaming...

    Vampiric Touch

The FAQ has this to say about Vampiric Touch stacking: How is the body feeder weapon quality supposed to work? Do the temporary hit points from the weapon stack? The same question applies to mind feeder weapons and to spell effects, such as vampiric touch. Temporary hit...

    News

This looks great to me, Azure. I have used a news-sheet in my PBEM campaign. It too is thick with old-style editorializing rather than good clean objective journalism. Personally, I find it a lot of extra work to write, but it is useful for:giving visibility to what the other movers and...
