what ability do you want- IRL?

Agreed, but after the first time it happened, I think they'd learn their lesson and leave me in peace. :-)

what ability do you want- IRL?

Lay On Hands. Stand Still from the PsiHB. Hmmmm, no more people barging into my office while I'm trying to concentrate. On second thoughts, after reading that scary 'spell casting for real' thread: Reactive Counterspell.

Into The Darkness - A Solo Game For A Newbie

Thanks for the story hour Angelsboi! Heh, that was a blast from the past! Are Ry'ion and Luna both NPCs? How does the dynamic work out there? I guess with a solo PC, how do you avoid taking control away from the player?

Teflon Billy's post-ENnie Haiku Contest. WIN TONS OF D20 STUFF

Celestial Shih Tzu Leads a pampered existence. ZZAP! flank, die, repeat. Best spell, in my book, Is Prestidigitation. Drizz't soils pants again. Die, Polyhedron! Impact-resistant? Let's see: d2, Polygon. Edit: removed image of pooch

    Sherlock Holmes?

There's another thread on the same topic in the Rules forum: Sherlock Holmes http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?threadid=2047

    A Call for Speculation

Yeah, very smart stuff. I think you're right on both counts. This is all very subjective, but for what it's worth: 'Primitive': pre-fire. This power could play a similar role to fire. Wielders are revered leaders/shamans. 'Primitive': post-fire. Assuming it is abundant enough to enhance...

Teflon Billy's post-ENnie Haiku Contest. WIN TONS OF D20 STUFF

Wow, what a great thread, everyone. I haven't laughed so hard for a long time. Teflon Billy, how will you manage to pare the thousands of entries down to just 4 winners? Maybe a 100-pager elimination round is in order?:D

    Great books for young people?

Sorry for the delayed response Blood Jester. Yes, it's the very same Gerald Durrell. 'The Talking Parcel' is the only fiction book of his I've read -- not sure if there are any others.

    Mega-Adventures Vs. Normal Adventures

Agreed. With limited DM preparation time, I'd much rather have a super-adventure that has all of these facets. The problem is that as yet no-one has really delivered, at least in d20 IMHO. I imagine that these are very difficult to write, and still be flexible enough to satisfy everyone. For...

    Historical Fantasy

'Earth1066': http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?threadid=25739 There was a historical-setting thread similar to this one not so long ago: http://enworld.cyberstreet.com/showthread.php?threadid=18814 For what it's worth, my current campaign is set in Elizabethan London, but I have...

    Recommendation for a 1st-level 3e adventure?

I had a lot of fun with Death in Freeport. Of Sound Mind reads great and I'm itching to find an opportunity to play it. Gorgoldand's Gauntlet from Dragon Magazine Annual #5 also looks great. I'd say it's a more puzzle-oriented, and a little less deadly.

Arabian Adventures... would you buy it?

Yeah, spot on, Teflon: it was all about the fluff. 'City of Delights' in particular just blew me away, and it didn't matter that it wasn't in the game system I was running. With the AQ ESDs available, it makes a heavy-fluff, low-crunch Arabian d20 product a tougher sell (at least to me).

Help! How do I do a ball scene?

Sorry to hear it didn't work out as you'd hoped..... but it does sound like you've generated a great, hook-rich situation. Thanks for the update.

Help! How do I do a ball scene?

Sorry to ressurrect a prehistoric thread, but I'm curious to know how things turned out. Infinite, did you run the ball scene? Did Anschlag dance? Did Pta-riri wear a ballgown? Did the fop make it out alive? Inquiring minds want to know.:)

My wife won't let me play D&D.

This is a tough issue and I certainly don't know all the answers. Brave of you to post so honestly here, JE and also Dremen. I think I would just echo Buttercup's advice: talk honestly with her and try to determine the root issue. If the root issue is time or insecurity, then this one might...

    Great books for young people?

I think somewhere around age 10, I was reading and re-reading these: Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain Watership Down by Richard Adams The Talking Parcel by Gerald Durrell (sadly OOP) and I was probably still reading (though I'm sure I wouldn't have admitted it to my buddies at the time): Winnie...

    [OT] Poems

Interesting thread... Sonnet CXXX My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun; Coral is far more red than her lips' red; If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun; If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head. I have seen roses damask'd, red and white, But no such roses see I in...

    "Themed" Campaigns

Elizabethan London I run a campaign set in Elizabethan London: lots of espionage, heinous plots, and opulent soirees. (Think 'Alias' but with frilly ruffs and bad pants.) It is also a single-class campaign -- Rogues -- but, er, there is only one player. :)

I need feedback from experienced DM's

Hi Omraxes, I would echo what many have said already: these are not spells that I would personally consider problematic. The lack of magic items is still more concerning for RttToEE, although for all I know your DM is already adjusting the encounter difficulties to account for this relative...
