D&D (2024) Gizmodo preview on 2024D&D's PHB and DMG

Oh no you are perfectly right. Aerdiaak is the worst change by far. Any of us could rename it better. My other gripes are purely semantic. Like adding "north" seems to be a compromise for dropping "barbarian". I kinda like Arn though I'm dismayed to no longer see Blackmoor enshrined up there...

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

New map labels are good for the most part. Aerdi(ACK) aside. The addition of classic adventure locations can only help promote the setting as well.

D&D (2024) Gizmodo preview on 2024D&D's PHB and DMG

Some of the changes to the Greyhawk map are cringe to my eyes but overall I'm cool with this. Plus Mike Schley is a good artist and he can sell his own work at cons I believe. So...

D&D (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

This question got buried. Ghosts of Saltmarsh actually presented the Kingdom of Keoland and its present day context pretty good. The area map and text includes the Dreadwood which is a huge feature of the country, while incorporating smaller details from the other anthology mods that werent...

D&D (2024) How Does Greyhawk Fit In To The New Edition?

Facts. Though iirc the OG folio has no cultural info, or gods for that matter. Given the City of GH is supposedly featured on one side of this map, that place alone could eat up any word count.

Spelljammer A Look At The Upcoming Spelljammer Boxed Set

Well this is a turn, I actually prefer the regular covers over the special ones for once. shrug At any rate, never played OG Spelljammer. Excited to try this setting out.

    TSR TSR3.5 Voluntarily Dismisses Lawsuit

Haha yeah true, Morrus. It just struck me funny, as someone who works in the court system (but not an attorney) I'm constantly amazed how terminology can vary from state to state.

    TSR TSR3.5 Voluntarily Dismisses Lawsuit

I'm not a lawyer but shouldn't that be "withdraws" lawsuit. Again, I could be wrong, but I believe it's the judge who decides whether a case is dismissed or not, and with or without prejudice.

D&D General For the Love of Greyhawk: Why People Still Fight to Preserve Greyhawk

The first part yes, because it sets up the game and all settings that follow. The second part, wars, I would argue is rather distinctive, not because of Greyhawk Wars, but because warfare was baked into AD&D from troop lists, to castle construction and siege machine rules. "Name-level"...

D&D General For the Love of Greyhawk: Why People Still Fight to Preserve Greyhawk

Ooh ooh let me try! Greyhawk is adventurers exploring ancient ruins for treasure against the backdrop of impending continental war and political strife.

D&D General Moar Greyhawk: Anthropocentrism and Humanity in Greyhawk

Fair enough lol. Yeah using the full 20/10/5% was necessary because I was trying to push the figures in contrast to the full population amounts of the LGG. And as to page 13. Nice find, like your OP amend. I suppose ya, mercenaries and wanderers (like Rhennee?) wouldn't be easy to count!

D&D General Moar Greyhawk: Anthropocentrism and Humanity in Greyhawk

I wrote about screwy demihuman populations not that long ago. Elven Populations in Greyhawk Not sure if this adds to the discussion but summary: the boxed set figures for demihumans iirc are just for fighting males, because originally Gygax was a wargamer. Greyhawk Wars and all that jazz. The...

D&D General For the Love of Greyhawk: Why People Still Fight to Preserve Greyhawk

Agreed on the DMGuild snub. They put out one adventure set in Barovia and all of Ravenloft is fair game on DMsGuild. The early section on GoS references quite a bit Greyhawk history, sets up Greyhawk factions and the maps feature regional Greyhawk geography. Never mind the module storylines...

D&D General For the Love of Greyhawk: Why People Still Fight to Preserve Greyhawk

Just came on here to say great topic Snarf Zagyg! I've been beating the fandom drums with Greyhawk deep dives for a few editions now. So I love to see so many other people weighing in and discussing the setting. Keep it up guys!

Pathfinder 2E Beadle & Grimm To Make 'Character Chronicles' For Pathfinder

1E AD&D character sheets were classic in that the last line was for a hero's Will. It's up to someone else to write the death certificate. These type of products are so gorgeous that I'd be afraid to write in it.
