Help an 7th level Rogue Archer

That's the way I would go. I'd take Deadeye Shot from PHBII. It'll allow him to ready an action to take one sneak attack shot at an opponent who has just been hit by an ally. This gives him the one sneak attack per round mentioned above. I'd go with that feat + any initiative buffing feat to...

    Is the Dervish overpowered?

See my post above...the feat in question is "Versatile Unarmed Strike". It basically lets you change the damage type of your unarmed strike as a swift action. So, you could do slashing damage one round, piercing the next, etc. This is in PHBII.

    Is the Dervish overpowered?

Versatile Unarmed Strike (catchy name, eh?) is in PHBII. It lets you change your unarmed strike to piercing, bludgeoning or slashing as a swift action.

    Non-Core Class Survivor: Round 6

Seconded, or maybe thirded! I don't have a complicated, rational reason for disliking the class. Just don't like it.

"Practice Spellcaster" Feat - Huh ?

Ah, that could be. The feat I was thinking of was originally in a Forgotten Realms book. That's probably it. My mistake. :)

"Practice Spellcaster" Feat - Huh ?

I'd say it's absolutely required for a Bladesinger character, which is really unfortunate since the prestige class really has steep feat requirements. As I recall, earlier versions of the Practised Spellcaster feat were much more powerful. I *think* it actually did increase # of spells cast...

    Bladesinger

I second the recommendation for Duskblade, unless you really need a full Wizard/Sorceror spell list it's really a good fit for a melee focused character with some spellcasting abilities. I guess my second choice would be Spellsword. You can eventually wear heavier armor than a Duskblade and...

Lead-in adventure to Red Hand of Doom?

I would use The 11th Hour too, but since it was written by one of my players...well, there goes the element of surprise. Really good adventure, though. I started the players out in the Firesteap Mountains, travelling south on the Golden Way in the employ of a semi-competent Halruuan Wizard...

Lead-in adventure to Red Hand of Doom?

I'm planning on running Red Hand of Doom (hopefully sooner, rather than later). Right now, our group is playing Goodman Games's "Lost Vault of Tsathzar Rho". I'm reasonably sure this adventure will take the PCs up to 3rd level (or nearly so). So, I'm looking for a good adventure to get the...

    Crazy warrior-poet character?

I'm currently playing a Barbarian (2nd level) and I'm interested in trying a combination of Bard & Barbarian with Frenzied Berserker thrown in the mix. I'm having a bit of trouble getting the Bard to fit the Viking-esque Skald concept. I've looked at the UA variant Savage Bard but I'm not...

    Eberron-as corny as I think?

Yeah, all this time I've been enjoying Eberron (both reading supplements and playing) I"ve been horribly, horribly wrong. I'm deeply shamed at my ignorance. I swear I was having a great time with my Warforged fighter crushin' Emerald Claw skulls, but it must have been more of Keith Baker's...

    Eberron-as corny as I think?

When I first heard the setting described (back when first introduced) I thought, quite frankly, that it sounded awful. As silly as it sounds, I purchased it on a whim mostly because of the really nifty art and thinking maybe there were some setting bits or rules I could use for something else...

Best Product You Got Because of ENWorld

Eberron Campaign setting for me, too. I was extremely skeptical when I first heard about it, but after reading posts here in ENWorld I bought it and absolutely loved it. As far as fiction goes, I found out about Paul S. Kemp here on EnWorld and read all his books as fast as I could get...

    Post your favorite mood music...

"The 13th Warrior" soundtrack is a good one (speaking of 13th stuff). Also, "Chronicles of Riddick", "Advent Rising" and "Hellboy" scores are all good.

Eberron DM requests advice about PC/party motivations.

I agree with the Severed Head (that's a fun thing to type). :) Let the players make their backgrounds up (with XP incentive and the knowledge that you'll use their background for plot hooks that will feature them strongly) and then tell them where and under what conditions the campaign is...

    The Duskblade: Redundant?

I think the Duskblade is a great idea. The "gish" concept has been part of D&D for ages, so it's nice that you can play it without multi-classing. I think it's a common enough archetype that it deserves its own class. And I definitely agree that a multi-class fighter/mage is going to have...

Nobody talking about PHBII or other supplements?

Not sure. I hadn't really noticed that they were being ignored. For the record, I really like the PHBII. The Duskblade is probably my favorite. It's about time the game had a base "gish" class since it's such a long-standing concept in the game. The feats, for the most part, are solid and...

Shadows of the last war's essence node of blinding

It's actually supposed to be an Essence of the Scout from the Eberron campaign setting book.

Order of combat: Declaring defensive fighting, dodge

It does seem kind of odd. For what it's worth, I always interpreted it as being aware of your opponent but not quite knowing how they're going to be coming at you. You can defend yourself but you're at a disadvantage against a quicker foe. It still doesn't explain why you aren't "flat footed"...

I believe it's Necromancer Games's "Mother of All Treasure Tables".
