[very OT] RP Gamers with vivid imagination needed for strange present...

Hi all This is my first every OT post, but boy is it OT. I decided to write to this newsgroup because I generally don't know anyone more talented than RP gamers when it comes to writing quirky storylines or fun little adventures to unravel. I basically need your help designing a real world...

[OT] The coolest optical illusion I have seen in my life...

Re: *sigh* Yeah, I never got that. Apparently I belong to the 10% who can't see them. Heard an explanation why some years ago, but I can't remember the details. Anyone...? regards Toft

    Covers on Amazon.com!

That's odd, I find the Fiend Folio cover to be the weakest of the lot. It kinda goes against the style of the other generic D&D books they published; not in layout, but it looks blatantly like a drawing and not like the mock up models used for the other books. Then again, I'm having really bad...

[OT] What Wierdness is in *your* inbox?

Re: Re: This is a long post, sorry. Ignore at will. :D Now that's a theory that would make my life more exciting (well, the bank thing ... the ex thing is just kind of sad), but I talked to my bank yesterday and they seemed to be in a good mood. Of course, that might just be the way they...

[OT] What Wierdness is in *your* inbox?

This is a long post, sorry. Ignore at will. Hmmm, don't know if this belongs to the category, but it sure is interesting and I though you guys might like to hear a weird one. This is actually still in progress and very much concerns something showing up where you don't want it. 5 days ago ...

[OT] What Wierdness is in *your* inbox?

(EDIT: Yeah, hmm .. maybe I should read the entire thread before posting) This is a variation of the so called Nigeria fraud; at least that's what it got named in Denmark, where I lived in the time of this fraud's heyday. Several small-scale companies in Denmark fell for it and that's why...

    Curious: Top 5 D20 Wants

(edit: spelling) Good question, man. On to the dreaming... 1. BotR Ever since Green Ronin started talking about this, I wanted it *now*. It seems like a perfect place to gather inspiration and Green Ronin seems to have kept up their consistent quality even with this 320 page bugger. 2. d20...

    GenConUK to GenConEurope?

Hi Dane living in Scotland right now. I for one think the UK is by far the best place to hold the GenConEurope, if that be the case. All European countries have easy connections (flights) to the London/UK area ... much more so than most other places in Europe. All staff/officials would be...

[spin-off] 3E is NOT "dumbed down."

Checked out Fuzion and GURPS and I don't find their multiclassing system any easier. Not to start a discussion (no advocacy needed on a d20 board), but just felt obliged to tell you that, at least IMHO, D&D isn't a phase for most. It's a choice. Anyways... regards Toft

[spin-off] 3E is NOT "dumbed down."

That's exactly the reason we started using them under 2nd ed. I was so incredibly tired of... DM: So the troll slashes at you Player: WHAT! I'm nowhere near that freak DM: Yeah you are! I told you he moved closer to you last round. Player: Yeah, closer to the barrels you said, but *I* left...

[spin-off] 3E is NOT "dumbed down."

Hmm, I guess it comes from the fact that we basically played with our own combat rules under 2nd ed. and to relieve a lot of the pain, we used battlemats (we designed the system for such). When 3rd came out, I was all like "Well, great, basically what we have been doing for the last 5 years...

Has ENWorld made your gaming better?

It most certainly has. For one thing - and I think the most important thing - EN World has really, really managed to create a community. A place where you can go and realize that even when your mom is eyeing your core books suspeciously or your friends ask you yet again "So, what is this...

[spin-off] 3E is NOT "dumbed down."

Hmmm ... right .... I guess what I meant was dissing 3rd edition on the account that it is simple, not becuase it involves buying new books. Should have been clearer on that, sorry. It truly is. Cheers. regards Toft

[spin-off] 3E is NOT "dumbed down."

I agree, the rules seem more centered around fighting, but to be honest; over the 10 years we played 2nd edition, I think 99.99% of all rule discussions were on the fighting logic/rules. I think the rules needed to focus much more on fighting because that's where the rules are used. Walking...

[spin-off] 3E is NOT "dumbed down."

Not playing with battlemap... ? And this works? I don't mean to sound demeaning; this is actually an honest question. The rules seem so tied into battlemaps, I never even considered not using them. regards Toft

[OT] Who uses Winamp and likes Vanilla Coke?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Yieeeeww! I guess I'm judging it on the Coca-Cola variant, which I can't exactly call myself a fan of. Unfortunately I won't be back in North America until Christmas, so I'll have to keep it in mind. Cheers for the link. regards toft
