    D&D 4E New 4E term "combat advantage"

I prefer "Do You Like That, Do Ya? Does It Hurt? How About Some Of This, Then, Dog?"

Do you like the name "Golden Wyvern Adept"?

I agree with that. The player or DM can always change the name to something else. Unless, that is, the feat is part of a broader flavour theme for the character, which requires the PC to be tied down to a Golden Wyvern progression of some sort. But it wouldn't be that inflexible, would it?

D&D 4E Does anyone agree with me about 4E?

They're a class. My first 4E PC will be a dragonborn warnazi/warwizard with warfeats and warstats. Is there going to be a 4E war-arms and war-equipment guide? And is WarComplete War available on Amazon yet?

    And the mystery race is...hated

Or lizards that look like people. I don't loathe the idea, it just seems to lack novelty or simple coolness. I feel like I've been waiting for a new television station to come online, been successfully baited with snippets of information, then find out that it's just 24/7 reruns of Seinfeld...

    Challenge to WotC: Initiative

Ah, but they won't be called dolphins. They'll be the ancient aquatic race of Squeenorg, or something, and have a loose alliance with aquatic elves and an ancient enmity with, oh, let's say locathah. Or maybe they're just too intelligent to show up in an RPG. Even dolphins ostracise geeks.

WotC: Let's Improve the Weapon List, Shall We?

I disagree. Learning to swing a cricket bat proplerly doesn't each you how to use a tennis racquet well. The principle is the same.

    Challenge to WotC: Initiative

    Quite simply, if 4E isn't dolphin-free, I won't buy it.

    D&D 4E 4e Design and JRR Tolkien

Can you expand on that? I'm not rebutting it, but 1e was so long ago I can't remember what it was about, other than orc-killing.

    D&D 4E A humble 4e suggestion

C&C deals with it thus: "A human-sized character should not be able to pack more than two Large Pouches and one Small Pouch on their belt with a Large Belt Pouch being equivalent to one Scabbard, one Quiver, two Small Pouches, or one Spell Component Pouch."

WotC: Let's Improve the Weapon List, Shall We?

I'm still agin the small sword/medium sword business. I prefer the simplicity of having weapon size based relative to user size.

WotC: Let's Improve the Weapon List, Shall We?

I agree. I'm a minimalist. I'm quite happy to call a machete, butterfly sword or gladius a short sword, a pike or sarrisa a longspear, and any form of polearm simply a polearm.

    Exeunt gnomes: bang or whimper?

I once had a fine time sending players on a subterranean expedition to fetch a giant cray for magic item components. It nearly ate an elf's leg.

    Pseudo-Australasian campaign settings?

Thanks for the primer, exile. I guess what I'd like to do with an Australian setting is use the native mythos to build an antipodean fantasy setting, just as most settings are built on European myths and folklore. So, marauding bunyips, spirit-serpents (nagas & couatls?), and man-eating...

    Exeunt gnomes: bang or whimper?

I think that's partially true, but my indifference toward gnomes is mostly because dwarves make them redundant. They're too similar, IMO, for both to warrant a berth in the PHB, and mythically they're the same thing. Certainly not halflings! Since the days of yore, almost every sourcebook...
