Dungeon 170: Monument of the Ancients

Wizards posted a new Forgotten Realms adventure today over on D&D Insider Dungeon 170: Monument of the Ancients. What’s particularly cool about the adventure IMHO is that it’s set in Phlan – you know the city from the old SSI gold box computer game Pool of Radiance. Though it’s not a sequel...

Are there Warforged in the 4e Forgotten Realms?

The blood forges from the five kingdoms of the Utter East are another possibility steeped in preexisting canon. These magical forges produced constructs called basal golems, but hell, why not call them Bloodforged.

Are military armies valid in 4e?

I'd suggesting using monster throngs (from Open Grave) and designate them as minions. It works for Zombie Hordes, why not footsoldiers on a battlefield?

WotC forums down for a week or two?

As a software architect I too find this decision a bit odd. Even adjusting for the remote possibility that the two forums cannot run side-by-side (which should be a requirement of the QA process in any event), anything more than a few hours of downtime is straining credulity.

    Forgotten Realms Map - Huh?

Also, the Realmslore: Sarifal article has an awesome map of the Moonshaes by the same cartographer as the Backdrop: Cormyr map, Mike Schley. I'd love it if Mike just redrew the entire campaign map.

    I Owe Wizards an Apology

As long as the publisher does the due diligence and puts the call out for freelancers that have that kind of experience. I bet there are more subject matter experts out there than you realize. But hey, if you get no interest then at least you tried, right?

    Dragon 376 - Realmslore: Sarifal

I particularly like the map. Mike Schley is a fantastic Cartographer.

Questions about Demons, Tanar'ri, Obyriths, etc...

Excellent. Thank you very much Shemeska. If I may, can you point me to any references to Yugoloth cities? A quick Google search shows a place called the Crawling City. Do any others exist? Thanks!

Questions about Demons, Tanar'ri, Obyriths, etc...

Can any demonology experts out there answer a few questions for me regarding tanar'ri and obyriths? If its canon, please provide a source. If it's an educated guess that's great too. Thanks! 1) Who is the oldest obyrith? I thought Queen of Chaos, but 4E MM says Dagon is the oldest 2) Why did...

Dragon 373: Ecology of the Sharn

The sharn are much older. They first appeared in Ruins of Undermountain during the 2nd-Edition era in 1991. I'm not sure if Avin has a dislike of the artwork itself or for the sharn's odd physiology in general.

Dragon 373: Ecology of the Sharn

New ecology article posted at Wizards Ecology of the Sharn by Brian R. James Sharns are an enigma little understood by sages and rightfully feared by adventurers. Born of the last remnants of a dead world, these timeless beings embody raw eldritch might. They might rise to rule the mortal...

    Level 33 "Solo Primordial"?

Primordial is a keyword like demon or immortal. I suspect it should say the following: Level 33 Solo Brute Huge elemental humanoid (earth, fire, primordial)
