I can't see how it would. Giving a deity double secrets while they have a primary stat of Charisma doesn't enable them to keep their Charisma from going down the loo. The argument I get from you is that the penalties simply remove the divine bonuses. This is not true. Look, a Greater Deity...

I'll assume you meant Intelligence and go from there. Hercules having an 18 Intelligence is the result of him having too high a stat, rather than having a stat be too low. If Hercules' Intelligence ends up too high... well, it's like wearing a sweater on a warm day - you can just take it off...

Fine, but why penalize another ability score based on an opinion of opposition? Why not do something else? Strength Portfolio: Must Power Attack when making a full attack. Strength Portfolio (double): Must Power Attack at least half your base attack. Etc.

I don't think anyone is blaming you for misrepresentation, UK; if anything people are looking at how you've set portfolios against other elements of the game and are wondering if it's all necessary that it be done in such a way. A Secrets portfolio doesn't have to penalize Intelligence, even...

I don't think "accuracy" comes into it; we're talking about an arbitration here. I'd prefer not to see the ability score actually reduced in any way, since it's problematic for staple deities who haven't dedicated the ability points to compensate for it, which would be unnatural as hell.
