Anybody here see the new HackMaster adventure modules?

I've purchased the book/pdf bundle for both adventures. I've not read either of them, yet; but I've 'flipped' through both pdfs a few time. All I can say is, "Wow!" They put some real effort to make those worthy of purchase. One thing you did not mention is that the Vohven adventure also has a...

Barb and Jolly Blackburn of Kenzer...

I was talking with Barb at GaryCon Friday when she and Jolly arrived. At one point, the topic turned to Amber. There was twinkle in her and and a little extra in her smile at that point. I never met Amber; but after spending nearly six years on the Kenzer boards, I feel as if I knew her. Her...

(HackMaster) The Hacklopedia of Beasts - the most awesome monster manual ever

What KJSEvans and Falstaff said... Combat isn't attack vs AC, either. It's attack roll vs defense roll. Armor reduces your defense roll but reduces your damage taken. Shields, on the other hand, increase your defense AND can reduce damage taken. Mages use a combination of spell points and...

How to Select an RPG system (a chart)

That could work. As far as the new HackMaster, give an option leading to AD&D1e asking if you like opposed rolls for combat.

How to Select an RPG system (a chart)

HackMaster is only listed under 'humor'.

    Which game would you recommend?

I'll second this one, but I'll elaborate a bit more on it. HackMaster Basic is an introductory to the new version of HackMaster. It's a modern throwback to AD&D, but the character power level is about half of what AD&D had. A 6th level fighter in HM is about equivalent to a 3rd level fighter...

(HackMaster) The Hacklopedia of Beasts - the most awesome monster manual ever

Yes, you won't see any dragon die in one-on-one combat like I have seen in other FRPGs.

Thought on Player's Guide to the Sovereign Lands?

GF8* summed it up nicely. Here's the short version I love my 3.5 PGttSL. I never open the 3.0 version anymore. *For the record, I'm the original GF.

Will tomorrow evening (the 17th) be too late to send anything? I'll be capable then.

Exactly. As Dave said on the Kenzer boards...

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo cherry picks

Exactly. I'm cherry picking about a dozen different things for next campaign and modifying (and updating some to 3.5) them to fit in Kalamar.

2008 Best Publisher Nomination Thread (and more!)

Seconded. Divine Masters is the best deity book since Green Ronin released The Book of the Righteous. Also, Aces & Eights won game of the year at Origins.

Kalamar - first published 4e setting?!?

I nabbed the pdf last night. Good stuff. The atlas section is beautiful. It will be great to be able to print out a page and actually write on the map without the worry of damaging it and not having a replacement.

That's the most intelligent thing said in the previous few pages.

When are you going to release "The Dark Side of Teleene"? Some of us want to know what's beyond the Sea of Dread and Brandobian Ocean.
