    Play without owning rules books?

OD&D - way been when I was first introduced. It took me about a year to get my own. Vampire - 3 sessions and decided I didn't like it. Exalted - last night was my first time and had a blast. I'll be getting the core book in time. Traveller - I think we got one session in when the GM decided to...

    Any other vegetarians / vegans?

We've been easing into the veggie diet for a few months now. We have some meat, but the amounts keep decreasing. I don't think I've ever been healthier in my entire life. I never knew that eggplant tastes good!

Dragon - to renew or not to renew

My subscription ran out around #300. Like Crothian, I don't miss it at all. IMO, second & third party publishers eliminate the need of the magazine; and they don't carry the necessary advertisments the magazines carry. Also, you don't have any control over the contents of the magazine. When you...

Labyrinth of Madness by Monte Cook - Updated November 18, 2005

Changing it t d20 is the hard part. Once you got a 16th level version done, all you've really got to do is advance the creatures and increase trap DCs due to higher spellcasters and better craftsmen. I'd start out making it for the 16th group, then upgrade to 22nd and then to 42nd. You'd have...

Lord of the Rings is the new Star Wars

Agreed. IMO, Episode III is the greatest movie of all time. The strange thing is that even though I saw I & II four times each in the theatre, I've only seen III once. I'm not even sre that I'll even get the DVD. The answers I was looking for in the Star Wars universe were all answered. We've...

Labyrinth of Madness by Monte Cook - Updated November 18, 2005

I think I'll take the advice above and update it to epic levels for my Kalamar game. Having played it once and never completing it, I'm dying to run it (or will the PCs being dying.........)

Hmmmm. Good point. Of course, the only reason I'm even on posting right now is because the lady is slow at getting ready. Did I say that out loud?

Labyrinth of Madness by Monte Cook - Updated November 18, 2005

I liked the overall concept of the advnture from a player's point of view. the DM did say that it had lots of errors such as secret doors mentioned in the text but not on the map........ Needless to say, it was quite deady. I was the only survivor because I teleported out.

Is piracy a serious issue for game developers?

Same here, but I've bought a few books I lost on that hard drive because they were so good. Even though I had SEVERAL gig of .pdf's, I had probably only looked at maybe a dozen beyond more than a glance. I agree that books are far superior in all ways, and printing out hundreds of .pdf's to look...

Is piracy a serious issue for game developers?

Like you, I had several Gig of downloaded .pdf's on a hard drive that crashed without the desire to take the time to reacquire them. I had trouble finding one book in particular to complete a set, but I had the actual book. I decided to scan it in myself, but quit after only 5 pages because it...

    Template Stacking

Another thing to remember is that most templates can only be applied to certain types. For instance, the vampire can only be applied to humanoids and monstrous humanoids. Because of this, the order that they are applied play the vital role in what the outome is.

AAAARRGGGHHH!!! (Or "Enough with the trilogies already!!!")

The only stand alone novel I can even recall reading was "Nightwatch" by Rose Estes. It's part of the old Greyhawk series, but it isn't tied to any of them.
