    How will you DDI

All of the above. I currently have a Star Wars: Saga Edition play-by-post game that is currently on hiatus because dealing with combat and position was becoming too time consuming. Depending on how the DDI's tabletop works (most specifically, the subscription model -- if just the DM needs one...

D&D 4E Who needs minis for 4e with these... origami minis!

But by doing so, he could use the D&D logo and most of the D&D monster names. Sadly, he'd have to leave out the mindflayer and beholder, both of which are excellent.

D&D 4E Who needs minis for 4e with these... origami minis!

He should take the time to design instruction illustrations for those, and publish them as a book under the GSL -- I think he'd find it was well worth his time. =)

podcast: 4th edition combat too long

I'd love to see a session or two of Shelly's Confessions... group at play. Just sneak a webcam into a corner of the conference room unannounced, with microphones stashed under the table or something, then get them to sign whatever waivers after the fact... ;)

    Dual Wielding Implements

I don't think I like this, as even Ranger TWF doesn't allow you to stack the modifiers on your weapons (even partially). Most spells don't have to deal with escalating armor bonuses to AC, either, so I don't know that they even need the help. I'll reserve final judgement till my party's wizard...

Ranger & TWF vs. Archery Powers

Incorrect. You, as a ranger, are a better archer than any other class, because you can make two attacks with a bow at-will. Now, had you said that you're not a better archer than a TWF ranger, while a TWF ranger is a better TWF than you, you'd have a point. You know what? Just give the archery...

    4e D&D GSL Live

And such a setting, in Wizards' eyes, dilutes the D&D brand because it is no longer representative of what they are pushing as "Dungeons and Dragons." D&D has room for different campaign settings. Faerun, Eberron (though I imagine 4e Eberron will take a step back towards the mainstream in many...

    Does teleportation negate falling damage?

And I've been arguing in this thread (well, I started after your post, but whatever) that momentum should be conserved. I was using your post, with its handy diagrams as to the consequences of that argument, to point out how I would mitigate the unsavory (to the plot-fun useability of long range...

Ranger & TWF vs. Archery Powers

The comments about "if you want to be an archer but don't want to take a ranger paragon path" really confuse me. If you want to be an archer, how is battlefield archer something you can go "eh, I'll pass" on?

Elven re-roll and the demigod capstone power

When did I rule that it returns the encounter power at once? I said that the rules don't explicitly tell you that the encounter power is returned in a way that interrupts the action, so I have no problem ruling that it returns the power after the current action completes.

    You are correct.

    Rogue Weapon Talent Use/Abuse?

Flavorwise, surely a TW Fighter isn't holding the dagger limply. But with regards to the mechanical rules, no attack rolls are being made (or rather, are required to be made -- TWF rangers obviously can) with the dagger, so it is clearer to use the word hold for this rule.

The highest-damage fighter power is level 3?!

Pemerton, I wasn't seriously contending that the argument was sound. It would be pretty assinine to make a power like that. But I think it *is* indicative of a typo there somewhere. That there are other fighter powers with similar typoes doesn't refute that.

Elven re-roll and the demigod capstone power

Divine Miracle doesn't specify *when* it returns your encounter power. I see no reason to allow it to return the expended encounter power before the current action is completed. So reroll every attack you make, but only once per action.

Can you design for/around Reach weapons?

Consider: you advance to smack a guy, and stop short of being fully adjacent. Then you smack him, and mark him. Now, he'll take an attack from you whether he closes with you to melee (polearm gamble) OR if he tries to attack somebody else from where he is. Kind of nifty, eh? Granted, go for a...

    What should I (Fighter) do?

That's an interesting and unusual party composition. With no leader, your party isn't really well equipped to concentrate damage on defender(s). You've got 4 second winds available to the party (plus another healing surge once a day due to your multiclassing). As such, I think in your case...

Ranger & TWF vs. Archery Powers

X X O X X Nimble strike your way out of that. Evasive strike your way out of it in difficult terrain (elves notwithstanding). It's not even a crazy, DM's-out-to-get-you set-up -- you've got two sets of guys flanking you, so that's something they'd go after naturally. Then, there's the...

Ranger & TWF vs. Archery Powers

Why? Joe sucks, so he gets a little something special to make him not suck. I'm already awesome, but I need something because Joe got something? Seriously, that's scary logic. If you don't think your game is going to progress to paragon levels... go TWF and wield your bow anyways. Why does it...
