[IC] Dichotomy's Age of Worms: The Whispering Cairn

"Oh no!" Sprout shouts, looking at Vixtrin's collapsed form in horror. Collecting his wits, he steps (limps!) 5' to the South West, pulls out his sling and engages this new threat... From a distance... (Ranged Attack +2 , 1d4+2)

[IC] Dichotomy's Age of Worms: The Whispering Cairn

"Ugh! I thought that sounded roach-like... Anyway, as a friend of my brother used to say: 'If in doubt, set something on fire!' You splash 'em, I'll light 'em!" Sprout will move forward (15 ' North and 5' West, so he's against the wall) and Ready an Action: Once Lartis (or anyone) has soaked...

[IC] Dichotomy's Age of Worms: The Whispering Cairn

ooc: Just noticed this line... Oops! "That doesn't sound good!" Sprout drops one of the torches he was about to hand Fintan, and lights the other with a tindertwig... "Anybody got any oil?!" With lit Torch at the ready, Sprout waits to see what comes out of the 'green' passageway...

[IC] Dichotomy's Age of Worms: The Whispering Cairn

Sprout digs out his two mundane torches and offers them to Fintan. "I've got another two, Fintan, but should we bother lighting all the Lanterns now? I mean, we're still nissing one of the set..."

[IC] Dichotomy's Age of Worms: The Whispering Cairn

Although getting a bit frustrated, Sprout had started towards the next tunnel to check it out the same way; but veers over to the others when they began moving the sarcophagus around. Looking in amazement at the emerged metal cylinder: "Well, THAT'S interesting... Only looks like it fits one...

[IC] Dichotomy's Age of Worms: The Whispering Cairn

"Sure thing Vixtrin!", Sprout responds, heading over. First, he'll search the walls and floor. Then he'll examine the lamp (see if there's anything inside etc.). Finally, assuming he hasn't found anything too interesting, he'll test to see if the chain will take his weight, and if so, he'll...

[IC] Dichotomy's Age of Worms: The Whispering Cairn

Sprout puts a hand to his head as if he were dizzy. "Hey... Did anyone feel that? Felt like the world wobbled there for a minute. Seems okay now though." (ooc: Okay, I'm being a bit silly) Noticing that the Dais is in the shape of an arrow, he wonders which direction it is pointing. Then...

[OOC] Dichotomy's Age of Worms: The Whispering Cairn

I have a copy of Sprout and his background stuff. I think it's a penultimate rev, so there might be a flaw or two on the character sheet (weight, gold etc.). Also any changes since we started (adding/removing stuff etc.) won't be there, but we haven't done a lot of that. A'Mal

    Seeking new players in Toronto

We are looking for a couple of D&D 3.5 players (1 to 3) to join our weekly (Tuesday evenings) group. currently, we have three ongoing campaigns (multiple DMs who switch off periodically) including two homebrews and a fairly fresh Eberron campaign, plus we will occasionally run 'one-off'...

    The Lance

Well, let me think... Try this instead: How about If Hyp holds the lance two handed and whacks you with it, then climbs up on a horse, holds it one handed (couched in the approved fashion) and hits you with it with the active cooperation of the several hundred pound horse... Which do YOU...

THIS is why I roll in the open...

I don't generally use a screen, but the table is really huge and I generally roll behind my hand so nobody really sees the numbers. However, on the really important dramatic moments where it's 'life or death'*, or a real long shot, I'll actually toss the required die right out into the middle...

    My Picture in DUNGEON!

First issue was the fall of 1986, methinks... Ah.... Highschool. Congrats btw, I found it a useful book. I bought it hoping to add some zing to the opening 'scene' of my resumed campaign (probably starting up again this summer). The plan is to drop the PCs into a chase already in progress...

Getting those potions out in combat: How long?

So splitting a Full round Action across two rounds seems to take two sequential Standard Actions - which strikes me as harsh, but there ya go... A'Mal

    Canada... where to move?

Well, fair enough. Musta had my 'take things personally' filters set too low again. Hate it when I do that. :) By way of apology, I will now 'fess up that two of my favourite places on earth are San Francisco and N'awlins... As an aside, I went out to a film this evening (oh yeah, gotta sneak...

    Canada... where to move?

Ridiculous. Toronto doesn't have A uniquely Toronto persona. It has SEVERAL personas. Many. It is described as a city of neighborhoods - each with it's own feel. There's also a faiyly hard demarcation between where people live (and live/work) and where they just WORK. Downtown core? Bay Street...

    Story Hour Fatigue

I'm thinking, from reading your (cannot be praised highly enough) Story Hour, that there are two things in particular that you seem to really ENJOY writing. (I could, of course, be completely nuts here): 1. Scenes where your PCs/NPCs really 'throw down'/do something stunningly cool 2...

    Holding a touch spell... indefinitly.

Yup. Silly me, looking for rules about Magic in the section on Magic... AND the two sections flatly contradict each other in a couple of ways. Irksome. Right. All my arguments are null and void. A'Mal

    Holding a touch spell... indefinitly.

How is an Object (sword hilt) touched by the caster a better place to draw the line than ANOTHER Object (a Ring, say) touched by the caster? Arbitrary (especially if adjudicated out of thin air) does not a good ruling make. Still waiting to confirm the existence of that SRD citation, mind you...

    Holding a touch spell... indefinitly.

Neither my copy of the PHB (Pg 176) OR my version of the SRD (latest Sovelier/Sage) seems to have this line in the relevant section(s). Could you direct me to where it is? Because WITHOUT that piece of black letter, my citation stands. With it... Well, that's different. But I don't see it in...
