I played D&D from the late 80's to the late 90's and when I picked it up again when 5e came out I said "What's an Ebberon?" To me it doesn't feel like D&D but you know what it is. And there's some guy out there who could say the same about Dark Sun, FR etc "Bah humbug Blackmoor or nothing"...

I just find it curious how in a game about killing stuff, demons, devil cults and many many other crazy things you find Elves who have the audacity to change gender as not suitable for every age category? What in particular about changing gender after a long rest is worse than say, killing...

I'm running Season 1 for AL at the moment and find it generally very good. All set in one location (Phlan) and there is a big metaplot that doesn't intrude too much into the modules. They're linked by locations and factions and some recurring NPCs etc and the modules are simple to run and...

As I say, too much like real life for me;)

I've played it a few times and some of my mates love it but I'm not mad on the backstabby, competitive vibe really, I can get that from boardgames, war games and in fact the real world so I prefer RPGs to have nice co-operative feel.
