Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announces More Details about Minis Line

I missed that. Smart move by Paizo, minimizing the risk. /M

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announces More Details about Minis Line

Vry interesting. It sometimes seems as if Paizo is aiming to become WotC anno 2005 or something like that. I have no qualms with this, but it seems a bit unimaginative as a business plan. The black dragon looks cool. And I like the troll. The prices are a bit high, but I've paid more for...

    First Purchase?

I'd look out for the Trail Maps of Mystara. I love love love those. But then again, I've got Thorfinn's excellent maps already, so maybe not that. Hmmmm ... first edition Unearthed Arcana, just to read through it ... nah ... the first iteration ... original D&D ... nah ... Probably the...

Could Wizards ACTUALLY make MOST people happy with a new edition?

The discussion so far seems to have focused a lot on rules. Of course, it's a big part of it all, but what about setting? I thought the implied setting (Points of Light) in 4e was cool to begin with, but as I played on I missed a campaign setting of the classic format. My players would ask a...

Could Wizards ACTUALLY make MOST people happy with a new edition?

Build it and the will come ... to complain. At least that's my theory, which is mine. /M (EDIT: props for Riley and Basterd for picking up the Python reference :))

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder outselling D&D

I bought it and placed it besides the several other huge FFG releases I have in my bookshelf. Then I tried to read it to learn it, and then I posted about that on my blog. The Altdorf Correspondent: WFRP: Embrace change, or seek solace in familiarity? For those who don't want to click through...

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder outselling D&D

Sad I like WFRP3e. Not my preferred edition of WFRP, but it is interesting and good quality. /M

    Interesting Tweet

Good lord, no! They'd still be viewed as not paying enough respect to the prior editions, in some quarters. Or being true to the D&D legacy, or brand, or something else. I'd be happy if they did it a way I liked, and others would consider that the wrong way to go. There are so many gamers out...

    Interesting Tweet

I'd say they would have to stay to the beaten path concerning any older editions than 3 and 4. That is, not change a thing, maybe adding a few options, maybe. But more or less they'd have to reissue the old stuff again, and then not touch it. /M

    Interesting Tweet

EDIT: Ironwolf beat me to it. I was to quick on the trigger ... or too late. It seems to me Wizards_DnD was live-tweeting from San Diego Comic Con, and posting tidbits from a Q&A session with Chris Perkins. So it seems to me this is not a random tweet aimed to get peoples hopes up, but rather...

    Interesting Tweet

I agree with your observation, but I think that enough gamers out there consider games that are no longer printed as "dead" that a comment like this from WotC is relevant, and very interesting, withouth reading too much into the wording. From my observations it's a very common phenomenon among...

    Slavicsek to leave WotC

To me that sounds a lot like any other employment I've had, I work in IT. A couple years here, a couple years there. Not many companies can offer permanent solutions to employment, so I don't see WotC as very different in this regard. Slaviscek did 18 years at the place, which is a spectacular...

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder outselling D&D

Thanks for chiming in. Puts a bit more light on the WotC transition from paper Dungeon and Dragon to online versions, as well as the development of Paizo over the last year. Cheers! /M

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder outselling D&D

When I worked in the industry, the company I worked for had a 5:1 one ratio for rules vs. adventures. That was the 90's though. /M

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Copyright Issues at Obsidian Portal?

Some of them were mighty small. :D I have a hard time seeing how posting pictures that small could be detrimental to Paizo's IP. That said, it is their IP and what they do to protect it is up to them. As it is for WotC, or Games Workshop (which is the company I need to toe around running my...

    I'm sick of...

That's uncanny! After they stopped coming here, they weren't flash mobbed anymore ... what a coincidence! :D I like to think that they have taken my advice to heart, which I have given here several times. WotC should not try to communicate with the fans, because someone will take whatever they...

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder outselling D&D

It's funny, when WotC announced crazy sales of 4e in the beginning, I remember Erik Mona being a bit miffed that WotC were slapping their own backs and being self-congratulatory. After that, I've seen Paizo tout it's horn quite a bit. But then again, if they don't do it, no one else will do it...

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder outselling D&D

Yeah, maybe. Some contractors I work with charge 150 dollars an hour. If I hire them instead of just contracting them, I pay them maybe half, but have to add taxes and insurance and social benefits, so the cost goes up. It aint cheap running a web agency here in Sweden. :D /M
