From Gencon Events - "All D&D games at Gen Con being placed with RPGA"

Well well well, if it isn't Ron Burgundy and the Fourth Edition team. Where's your healing surges? [laughter] You back off, Third Edition Team. Brick, where'd you get a minion? I don't know. All right. Let's do this! If you're gonna have a fight, then don't forget Second Edition with me...

From Gencon Events - "All D&D games at Gen Con being placed with RPGA"

Sorry, but I don't see anything uncool at all. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Gnome vs. Hobgoblin RM:UT Round 1 (One Day Only!)

Legionnaires who eat people vs. hippies who live under mushrooms? Yeah, tough choice.

Dragonborn vs. Githzerai: RM:UT Round 1

Okay, that's hilarious. The aforementioned Dragonborn paladin in my group has a habit of screaming his name during combat. No session is complete without the player yelling "TAAAAARN!" (it's much more fun than it sounds)

Dragonborn vs. Githzerai: RM:UT Round 1

The Fiend Folio grognard in me would normally vote Gith* . . . BUT, watching the Dragonborn Paladin in my group for the last year has made me *really* love that race. The next time I make a new character, a Dragonborn is at the top of my list. Given the plethora of 4e race choices, that says...

What 4e Fluff do you Like?

This x2. Honestly, I can't *believe* they haven't posted the entire contents of those books into DDI at this point. They have so much flavor that you could easily write an entire campaign using them alone. Overall, I love 4e's fluff---and just about every Dragon article increases my...

    Undead

Ghouls---every edition. As a Lovecraft fan, I tend to have my ghouls a bit smarter and more organized than Monster Manuals would suggest. But I will always have a soft spot for hungry dead.

    Dual-GMing

Our group is running the Scales of War adventure path, with four alternating DMs (averaging two adventure per DM). This situation (unique in my 30 years of D&D) has taught me that alternating DMs works best when they draw from the same source material.

How Do You Use Music In Your Game?

Our current Gm has a number of playlists for our game. "Town", "Ambient", "Combat" and the like. It's actually pretty cool if you can swap 'em out quickly and smoothly.

I want to be the best DM...

I've found that reading up on theory has helped me *prepare* for games, but the only thing that has improved my 'on-stage' performance has been the hours I've spent staring at player's faces over a screen.

I want to be the best DM...

Two things improved my DM skills more than anything else. 1. Practice. 2. Playing under crappy DMs.

D&D with "alt film" stars: the WotC interview

Artists tend to be less partisan about their work than their fans are.

    Roleplaying is fun!

Grats, man---sounds like a kickass session! edit: dammit! (You must spread some Experience Points around before giving it to Kzach again)

D&D with "alt film" stars: the WotC interview

Glad to see everyone liked this article. Zak's blog is fantastic, he gives a great interview, and he seems like one hell of a DM. One of the cool kids likes Dungeons & Dragons. That's a win.

    Religious Trappings

In a wealthy man's home you may see a five-stemmed candelabra. Search for colored candles. If you find them, you have uncovered a Tiamat worshiper. Cultists of Asmodeus will always have at least one iron nail on their person. Search carefully, search thoroughly.

How much suspension of disbelief do you require?

Depends on the game, really. I like my D&D with over-the-top heroic action. Believability takes a back seat to fantasy supers. But when I played Harn or Twilight 2000, I was incredibly mindful of ensuring that the game was as grounded in reality as possible. I encourage as much IC talk as...

Edition wars...a GOOD thing? or if not, an APPROPRIATE thing?

Okay, now I'm picturing an edition warrior hobbling James Wyatt with a sledgehammer and forcing him to write 3.75
