    Swordmage Question

You only get to trigger your Aegis once per round, but the enemies still take a -2 from being marked for not attacking you.

Is the Executioner underpowered, not a striker or both? (or am I missing something?)

The executioner is slightly underpowered for a striker, but not nearly as bad as its predecessor was. Assassin's Strike needs better scaling, and making something like Quick Lunge a minor action would bring it up to par pretty easily. Really, all it needs is minor tweaking.

    D&D 4E 4e webchat --stop by!

There's another very active orchestra chat for charop. Most of the handbook writers hang out in there, as well as about 20 others. Server is irc.freenode.net and the channel is ##4eco Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk

    D&D 4E The "We Can't Roleplay" in 4E Argument

Wow, I didn't realize I woke up in 2008.... Tequila is bad stuff.

    Charging through an ally?

It really isn't reasonable at all. It's a needless nerf for charge-based characters, and goes against the idea of teamwork.

    Charging through an ally?

You can move through an ally's square without penalty. It is listed on page 205 of the RC. You can enter an ally's space, but can not end there unless the ally is prone. Your DM is either making stuff up, or simply misread. Only enemies can impede movement.

    standing and opportunity attacks

Standing does not provoke OA's, as you're not leaving an adjacent square. The trigger is if an enemy you can see leaves an adjacent square, or uses a ranged or area power while adjacent to you. Has nothing to do with move actions. Standing up is a move action, but is not movement.

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

Healer's Mercy has always been the best CD. TU was situationally good, but not really strong compared to what an optimized striker can do. Divine Fortune has been bottom of the barrel.

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

Read the rest of his post. He kind of has a point. These statements were mostly made when 3e was released, and you can see it on amazon reviews and such. It was also pretty common on their forums, IIRC.

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

It was really changed in Heroes of the Fallen Lands with the Warpriest. Healing Word doesn't have the Divine keyword in there. This did cause some debate, but the Templar made it official, I guess. As far as the slowly trickling these updates out. Couldn't agree more. A lot of people like to...

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

I think it's because WotC has shown lately that they really have no clue how their own system works.

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

I was talking about Pacifist Healer, which has now been nerfed twice. That's all clerics get now, too. Healing. Leaders do a lot more than just healing, or they used to. To quote someone from the WotC boards: On the bright side, now people have a reason to play Runepriests. Because now they're...

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

Here's the thing. The cleric was basically built around powerful healing and strong control. Now, its most potent healing has been neutered twice (Pacifist Healer), and the control has been reduced to lol. Not much left in the way of redeeming features. Couldn't they have just made it simple...

    Cleric (Templar) is Up

Nerfing damage is fine. They didn't compensate it with anything to make the cleric a better leader is the problem. It was already mediocre at best compared to the Bard or Warlord. Now, I put it below the Shaman and Ardent.

The Class Compendium articles are great!

The themes are very "meh". They range in power from near useless (the beastmaster one), to extremely powerful (Order Adept). They're not very balanced at all.

    arrow counting question

Again. It severely punishes specific classes. It also doesn't nerf anything. Swordbond allows a swordmage to call their weapon. It isn't the same thing, at all. Think about it. If the weapons didn't return, then any aoe with a thrown weapon would require 1 magical weapon per attack to even have...

    arrow counting question

It unfairly punishes the ranger and seeker for no real reason. If they run out of ammo, they become useless. Noone else has to deal with this. It really adds nothing for the game.
