Well, with the OGL and OSRIC, 3pp can already do this (though I'm not sure what is going to happen to 4ed), but I guess what I was arguing was that the point of releasing new material would be for WotC to generate constant income from older editions.

But with so many players now playing different editions, I wonder how true this argument remains? Perhaps the player bases are significant enough to justify an official product or two for each edition each year? My thoughts exactly. this would be the perfect place to start.

I voted fighter, but it was a close run thing with the wizard. I've played those two classes more than any other. But in the end, it had to be fighter as I just love being in the thick of it and when I look back at my memorable gaming moments (as a player) they're nearly all with the fighter.

One of my regrets was not picking up the huge vinyl map when it was available. I picked up pretty much everything else - but not the map. I wish I had now! The tiles are excellent. I must admit that I've as yet still not run RAR, but if I ever do the tiles will be invaluable.

I think this pretty much sums up my feelings too. Buy it and enjoy it :)

Personally I prefer the Ptolus map, though the City State map is damn fine too. The style is more a throw back to 1ed city maps, whereas Ptolus is more contempory IMO.

Still playing 3.5 D&D and still really enjoying it. We're currently playing Paizo's Curse of the Crimson Throne and having a very enjoyable time. Hell, I'm still picking up the occasional 3ed book or magazine here and there, even though my shelves are creaking! Good luck whatever you choose...
