Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

If we had had YouTube in the ‘90s, I’m not sure I want to even think about the screed I’m sure I would have posted about “Dirty Secrets of the Black Hand”.

Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

I really don't think you need to take that personally - the internet is full of reviewers who breathlessly announce that every time WotC puts out a book, it's the best RPG product invented by Man.

    D&D 5E 5E Product Chart - Updated 4/21/22

Why would it be? If Spelljammer can come back from the dead after having not been supported since 2e, I don't know why Planescape can't.

Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

They left Kalidnay out of Van Richtens. Honestly it would have been a great tease, but I think it's pointed absence is a pretty good argument we won't get Dark Sun in 5e.

    D&D 5E 5E Product Chart - Updated 4/21/22

Do you think so? Sure, it isn't impossible, but as someone who loved both Dark Sun and Planescape back in the 90s - I think it would be relatively easy to do a Planescape 5e that was both true to the original 2e setting and to the general milieu of 5e. Making a 5e version of Dark Sun that...

    D&D 5E 5E Product Chart - Updated 4/21/22

I suspect you're correct, I just remain amazed to see them abandon that part of their release schedule. edit: Does anyone remember which month(s) Rime and Witchlight were originally announced in?

    D&D 5E 5E Product Chart - Updated 4/21/22

Ah - I just caught that “D&D: Onslaught” was developed in house by WotC and is releasing in September. Maybe we really aren’t getting a big adventure in September…

    D&D 5E 5E Product Chart - Updated 4/21/22

I dunno - as you and others have pointed out, WotC seems to be far more in a mood to experiment with the release schedule than they have in the past - but from '14 to '21, the big September adventure release was the biggest thing hyped every year. Even with the Spelljammer release, I have a hard...

...I think I must have missed any Giff funerary rites in the video, but I can roll with that.

Spelljammer D&D Direct Live Report: 9am PDT (5pm BST) SPELLJAMMER CONFIRMED! DRAGONLANCE!

Yeah - if anyone won, it was @Mercurius who was the first (that I saw) to call it as a 'boxed' set.

Speaking as one of the gamblers, I'm honestly not sure. For what it's worth, here's the avatar I knocked together for @Parmandur in the event that I won:

    WotC D&D Direct--Learn About Upcoming D&D On April 21st!

I've heard people mention that they still use the 4e essentials rules for the board games, but I've never played one and can't comment, other than passing along the rumor.

D&D 5E What do you think the three books are for the August D&D placeholder?

I mean, did you see how many writers were attached to that product!? I kid. You're clearly correct; the Amazon product dimension numbers are nearly always placeholder values.

D&D 5E What do you think the three books are for the August D&D placeholder?

The listed 5.1cm depth is ~= 2". That being said, the current starter set is listed as 2.17".

D&D 5E New Capenna is releasing for Magic the Gathering... will it join D&D too?

Interesting. Winninger emphasized that we were getting two returns to classic settings this year, with a nod to a third, and made clear that these were not M:tG settings. He did not, however, say that we wouldn't get a M:tG setting on top of those three. I wonder if Kamigawa is the theoretical...

    WotC D&D Direct--Learn About Upcoming D&D On April 21st!

I mean - Ravenloft has a pretty rich and detailed history when you look at the total lifetime of D&D, and everything other than Barovia was left on the cutting room floor for the first eight years of 5e. It's easy for us grognards to look at the grand history of a setting - especially one we're...
