It’s really outside the context of this thread, but I would argue the exact opposite - Curse of Strahd was, I believe, written with the assumption that this was the only book Ravenloft was going to get in 5e.

I dunno - I agree on the giff, but I still think the Boo connection is the most tenuous part of the connections people are drawing.

Did the Strahd: Revamped box end up on Target shelves? I wonder how (what I suspect was the relatively sluggish) sales numbers for that would impact their decision to do more non-starter boxed sets.

You know, even though I played in FR a fair amount back in the day, I never had the FR 2e box or the 3e setting book. That being said, I was always surprised that a number of people have told me they preferred the 3e book to the 2e box.

Has WotC really never done a campaign box? Ever? They were all TSR?
