Unfortunately that's another detriment that the variant has, since it doesn't have the Wild Shape class ability it won't qualify for most typical Druid PrCs. So RAW, you won't be able to enter the Nature's Warrior PrC. The same rule goes for magic items and feats which specify "Wild Shape".

I'd say no. I think the retraining rules are great for retconning a character, when the player made an error or poor choise, so that character stays enjoyable for the player. Retraining is good in such cases where a character took feats for an intended concept but in gameplay the character...
