    D&D 5E Silence Spell

Thanks for the clarifications. When we did a quick read in-game, we misunderstood it. Later we looked it up and reread and then compared it to older revisions of the game.

    D&D 5E Silence Spell

I ran into this last session with my players. Up until now, no one had cast silence. To read the PHB on the surface it appears the spell can be cast on a person. That is powerful to say the least and breaks a lich in a hurry. What is the ruling on this? If it is a point in space, the one...

    D&D 5E Concentration

The rules state that you lose concentration on a spell that requires concentration if you cast another spell that requires concentration. So does this mean that you can cast another spell that does not require concentration? Seems simple, but quite different than any other edition.

D&D 5E Training to Level Up

This has been an age-old question. Back when I cut my teeth on Holmes edition Basic and AD&D, training to level up was mentioned in the PHB, but no real system or cost was in place. I have given this a lot of thought over the years. A rogue (thief) to me; seems like there is no need to for...

D&D 5E Mixing DCCs with Forgotten Realms?

I am leaving a long running campaign in Judge Guild Wilderlands and starting one in FR. I have every Dungeon Crawl Classic done. I am thinking of using Castle Whiterock for Dragonspear Castle. Anyone have experience with DCCs? Does the flavor jive with FR?

Has anyone printed the Sword Coast map by Mike Schley? I downloaded it an this thing is great but o want a big hard copy. I do not want to pay to have it printed unless I know it will look good.

D&D 5e Adventure "Tower of Bondage"

I see a lot of chatter here about what is good and bad, trying to get someone to rate your work, and fortune-telling about what this will or will not do to 5e. I don’t know. I know this! Back in high school, a buddy and I came up with a cool concept we called the Tower of Bondage. It was a...

D&D 5E New Map for Sword Coast

The missing dots also do not appear in the maps in the Sword Coast Adventurers Guide. That is why I decided to post this. Every town south of a specific line, are missing dots and, the roads south of that line are incomplete. If there was some kind of "event" it all happened south of some...

D&D 5E New Map for Sword Coast

Ok, I can go with that but I am not finding that in the book. The map still has the name of the towns listed and shown, but with no dot. It appears more like a mistake. I understand not showing a path on a map of this scale. I would however expect more information on such a cataclysmic...

D&D 5E New Map for Sword Coast

Ok, I am new to Forgotten Realms so I am late to the table. I just receive my Sword Coast Adventurers Guide via Amazon. I also downloaded the Mike Schley map. There are a lot of towns missing for the map as you move south. Comparing to older maps from the 3.5 maps in the setting book, the...

D&D 5E Single Players with Multiple Characters?

Does anyone allow players to run more than one character at the same time in a campaign? I see possible issues, but wondered how that works if anyone one allows it?

    D&D 5E Forgotten Realms Map

I am new to Forgotten Realms. Since it is so popular I figured I would give it a shot. I like what I see so far. I purchased a campaign book (3e) and the pull out map in the back did not come with it. I read stuff here and there about the sundering and other big events. I think there are...

    Free DM's Guild Five-Star Freebies

It is a bad place to get trapped. Oozes, undead, traps...if that is raunchy.

    Free DM's Guild Five-Star Freebies

I have one on DM's Guild for your nephews... its a short adventure called "The Tower of Bondage". It is one level and designed for 3rd and 4th level characters. Its only my first, but I plan to add levels to it if I get support. Be sure to search The Tower of Bondage! I agree, I wish they...

Which D&D Settings Do You Play In?

I have enjoyed Wilderlands of High Fantasy for many years. I have the Necromancer Games version, and use it now. It is no longer in print and there is no chance of a reprint. Judges Guild is dead for good as I see it now. This last Kickstarter ended that. I see a long list of settings on...

D&D 5E in search of inspiration

I like to read or watch movies. I can sit through any part of Lord of the Rings or Hobbit, Dragon Slayer, Krull, Conan... and I get ideas. Heck, episodes of Game of Thrones is good. Sitting down with a god fantasy novel works just as well for me.

    D&D 1E Getting a 1E/2E feel from 5E

Let me throw my hat in the ring. I have played every iteration of D&D since the Holmes Basic Set, save 4th. I think it is the "feel" of the play and intent rather than the "system". I have found that the most "1e" feeling games, are those played with any system, but played like it was back...

D&D 5E Does anyone actually track rations?

I would disagree. Let me back up. I wear actual chainmail and it is heavy and cumbersome. I also do some backpacking and even packed light, it is still a chore to carry. Back in the day any fighting man had a squire or two and a several porters. Carrying anything but a weapon and armor is...
