    Sci-fi RPG

There are actually 3 (yowza) out of print Star Trek RPGs. The original was published by West End Games as "The Star Trek Adventure Game." I've only ever seen the boxed set. To my knowledge there were no expansions for it. This came out in the late 70's to early 80's. I've absolutely no...

    Sci-fi RPG

Any major distributor should have all of the Shadowrun books in stock. However, if you'd prefer to buy on-line, the best source for Shadowrun stuff is Stiggy Baby's For some reason that I can't figure out, Amazon seems incapable of getting Fanpro's stuff. Stiggy's has good sale prices, very...

    Sci-fi RPG

Shadowrun has cybernetics, direct neural interfaced Virtual Reality, Genetic implants, and space stations. Firearms can be cybernetically linked. Melee weapons are monomolecular and often diamond coated. It was the second major Cyberpunk RPG introduced. It's not Space Opera, but it's...

    Sci-fi RPG

Based on the number of threads its gotten here lately, I'd say there's a few of us who like Shadowrun.

    Magic in The Shadows

I'd tend to agree with Longshadow's comments. I'm a huge fan of the Shadowrun game world, but less so of the system. However, after considering a number of the different d20 options, and trying a few different systems, I came to a decision. You can't duplicate Shadowrun "Look and Feel" with a...

Need help deciding what to get!

I'm never an advocate for buying gaming materials purely for the sake of buying gaming materials. With that in mind -- what sort of supplements do you want? If you're running a grim and gritty spec-ops game, then you'd want very different supplemental materials than if you're running a...

Difference Between D20 Modern & Grim Tales

I've got both Grim Tales and d20 Modern. I've been running a d20 Modern campaign for about 5 months, and have been enjoying it quite a bit. I picked up Grim Tales a few weeks after I'd started it, and I regret that I didn't get it before hand. (I only picked it up after reading all the great...

Blood and Fists loaded into the Modern Generator

I know that I've contributed to the usage shown in the logs. This really is a great product and a tremendous time saver. At a $5 price point, I'll happily subscribe as soon as the option becomes available. One request, would it be possible to add a Monster Template on? For my game, I've...

    Need a little help

I'm running a Modern +FX campaign currently, so I've done a bit of research in this area. I haven't found anything about mummies yet, but I haven't really had cause to look either. For Vampires, Fang & Fury is a Green Ronin supplement for work-able Vampire characters. It's a race/class combo...

any chummers out there still play Shadowrun? (also: d20 vs SR 3ed)

I find the Shadowrun game world to be one of the most immersive and enthralling game worlds to date. Over the last 15 years, FASA and now FanPro have developed a tremendously detailed world with an awful lot of attitude. I've been playing the game on and off for most of that time, and like to...

    [d20F] Statting the Sathar

Well, I bought the Spelljammer MC when it came out and noticed them in it then. I sold my AD&D stuff years ago, so I haven't the foggiest notion what names were used for the other ones anymore. The TSR design crew also admitted that they'd included the SF critters in the compendium at the...

So what are the best d20 Mdern supplements out there?

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but I particularly like Modern Magic, also from the Game Mechanics. I'm running a game with Magic, but without traditional D&D arcane spells. Instead, I'm using the Ritualist class from Modern Magic, and it's giving the magic a nice Cthulhu-esque feel.

    Cthulhu Future

Since somebody else mentioned mecha-Cthulhu, it's probably also worth mentioning CthulhuPunk. GURPS came out with that quite a few years ago, and it's a solid book. Obviously not relevant for d20 stats, but the setting material could be useful. http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/books/CthulhuPunk/

Your favorite place to buy individual miniatures

I've also had a problem in dealing with newwave, and would not recommend them. If you're buying non-collectible minis, or buying by collectibles by the pack, I'd recommend www.thewarstore.com Absolutely phenomenal customer service there. However, they don't sell singles.

    d20 Modern v. GURPs???

It basically boils down to a question of cinematic versus realistic, and what your GM wants to run. GURPS is a realistic system that has quite a few different "patches" that can be used to make it cinematic. Ultimately, it's got a second by second combat system, a horde of different skills...

    d20 Transformers...

I'd second that request. Great book, but the lack of any NPCs is ... a bit challenging.
