There is a very good article in Dragon #338 (Staffing Issues by Ben Vandgrift) that details using a wizards staff instead of a familiar. Excellent stuff...cool flavor, comparative progression, lots of feats.

I'm with you. As I've posted elsewhere, imagine Tolkien's Middle earth. Now throw in a ton of tieflings flinging warlock invocations right and left. It has a differnt feel than the D&D I grew up with. And there are other games that already do that... So yeah, Treebore, I'm with ya.

Just saw this...I'm playing a Favored Soul/Sorcerer/Mystic Theurge in a group that more or less just started (we're still in the first map). We're a bunch of diehard old guys that have tons of money and lots of memories. We're not switching to 4e any time soon. Especially since we only play...

It has been many years since 3.x came out. A major difference is the internet! Where you intend to tantalize us over the next 8 months to build up suspense and excitement, we are drowning in speculation. If WotC really wanted to communicate they would stop teasing us or give straight facts...

So much for DDI not being required.

You must be confused. WotC has a pulse on the community and knows what we want. Really. We want 4e. We don't want a useful compendium of material scattered far and wide for a dying game. We want 4e. WotC told me so.

Why bother when he does such a great job all by himself: Why play a tabletop game of the imagination with friends when you could buy all these cool minis and tiles and run everything all by yourself on a computer!?!
