    Adventure Time Book For D&D?

I'm not a fan of Chris Perkins or his "silliness" style so I'm worried about this "Alice in Wonderland" setting. D&D doesn't seem to be the best fit for that type of setting. Sounds like Changling would be a better fit. I wonder if he is trying to catch the whole Beetlejuice, American Mcgee...

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

So just because it wasn't singled out it wasn't in a tear? I'm seeing loads of wishful thinking here. I know some of you want this edition to be the best of the best but from these comments we really don't know the full monty. He could have made that comment because they reached their...

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

How do we know 4th edition wasn't on a tear after the initial launch?

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

I think you might be a bit mistaken as to what I said. Nobody denies D&D has made money, it's a new edition and all editions make money. A lot of this is vague speech. We don't know the expectations that were put on D&D. Shareholders are not going to necessarily going to get a breakdown of...

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

Exactly! Most CEO's and upper management are given reports that have been passed along. D&D could have just been one of the products that were put on the list without the CEO knowing just how well it's actually doing. I say D&D is doing good but I don't think it's doing as good as some of you...

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

This looks to me like a classic PR move and it seems to be getting the results it was intended for. This is a new edition edition that is coming off the back of a very controversial previous edition followed by a lengthy period of no products so of course it's going to sell well in the...

D&D 5E D&D classic settings or new worlds to explore?

I would like to see a continuation of old settings and an introduction to a new one. Regarding old settings: If all the old settings had reached a finished point then I could understand not wanting to do them again, but that is not the case. Let's use FR for example. There are lots of places...

    The Realms WILL Be Updated!

Their current team doesn't need to be involved in the creation of a FRCG. All you need to do is hire Ed Greenwood, Eric Boyd, and Steven Schend to do the book and it being a "damn good" book wouldn't even be a question.

    The Realms WILL Be Updated!

The FRCG for 3rd edition is one of the best resources all in one book. Any mechanics can easily be ignored because they are situated all in one area. The old grey box is good but the campaign guide is top notch. The map is brilliant and the descriptions of the various areas are fantastic.

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

I wouldn't really hold my breath. Look at the success of The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones. Where is all the merchandise, all the toys, and all the video games? Sure there is a little bit of that stuff, but there isn't a mad demand for it. Somethings do extremely well in one area but not...

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

Bingo! So where does D&D take itit's unique place all this in order to sell it mainstream? That is a he'll of an adventuring party. So would Chewy be the bard?

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

You have to look at what makes D&D, well D&D. Let's look at what makes Lord of the Rings what it is. Wizards with pointy hats and long beards. Magical rings. Elves, orcs, dwarves, halflings, dragons and other creatures. Magic. Regal elves who carry beautiful weapons, wear beautiful and...

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

The problem is D&D itself is too broad. Also, what can D&D give the audience that Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Twilight, Star Wars, and all the numerous other fantasy movies, hasn'thasn't already given?

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

I thought the point of D&D was to make money. How are they making money on 2 AP'S a year and telling us to go and use all our old stuff?

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

Look at it this way. Name me some iconic D&D characters that are on the same level as Darts Bader, or the Avengers? D&D is just not as iconic in the way those are. People who read Iron Man continue to buy them to this day. The thing is, Iron Man comic books hasn't slowed down one bit. They...

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

Well Paizo only created the one setting while Wizards has several that are already established. There are fans of the other settings and they would like to see them supported.

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

I find this part very disingenuous. If we go by this thinking then we should still be playing basic D&D because let's face it, the imagination is limitless. Also, what of I don't like all the options in the core books? What if I don't like all the Sorcerer subclasses, or I want different...

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

Underdark, Shining South, Unapproachable East, Cormyr, Serpent Kingdoms, Lost Empires of Faerun, various Bix sets and adventures such as Myth Drannor, Zhentil Keep, etc.... I could go on and on but my browser keeps crashing so I don't want to push it. I'm guessing you are new to the game and...

Jeremy Crawford On The Dark Side of Developing 5E

Why are you clinging to IcV2 for dear life? Are you so desperate to think that 4th edition was a success that you will ignore the whole picture to help you sleep at night? You have already been given loads of information about IcV2 and why it's utterly pointless. 4th edition sold the best in...
