In the Charge section of the SRD, it says "A charging character gets a +2 bonus on the Strength check made to bull rush an opponent (see Bull Rush, above).". This makes me think that you just get a bull rush attemp, but with the charging bonus/penalty attached to it.

Another alternative may be to have just the caster level go up more slowly when casting non sphere spells, maybe missing-out on 3 or 4 caster levels over the course of the 10-level prestige class?
