most stuff seems to be a multiple of 5... why not just divide everything by 5, use the d20, and make it easier to do math? Heck, divide everything by 10 and use a d10! Edit: btw, I really LOVE the art of this game, reminds me of a lot of italian comic books from Bonelli I read back in the days!

Is "slow" levelling an option? As a general rule, I require one session played per current level to go to the next level: level/sessions played 1/0 2/1 3/3 4/6 5/10 6/15 7/21 8/28 9/36 10/45 that's more or less one year of weekly games to reach level 10, which can be a nice end of the campaign.

I love how 13th Age does Rage! You have 1 rage per day, but you roll to regain it at the end of each encounter. And you can also rage "for free" after a certain amount or rounds have gone by since you rolled initiative.

didn't read the whole thread, but on the issue of final boss fights: forget HP! make it last 5-6 rounds, wait until something super cool happens (a crit, an awesome spell, etc) and then ask "How Do You Want To Do This?"

I loved how back in the days a setting had a definite art style, created by a specific artist. like, for me it will always be Brom’s Dark Sun, Elmore’s Dragonlance, DiTerlizzi’s Planescape, Fabian’s Ravenloft, Szcuzdlo‘s Birthright.
