Yep. Glad we can agree that everything is magic

No no. Magic is mundane, everything in the DnD world is bound by the weave. Ergo, evrything that is done in DnD is Magic. Oh cutting a Galleon in half? I'm not sure why you think that's magic though. My dad can do that

Yep! Since there's no rule about being exhausted--no Action sugring--again and again for an entire day that means they must be magic!

Yes yes, so very gracious of your truthfulness that I am in awe and can do nothing but agree.

A lot of TacRPG does this actually--Like for example, in Icon a Knave(a sort of blackguard dirty fighter) is supposed to be the same level as someone that shoot lightning from their sword but this is because Icon embraces abstraction so 'lightning wreathed swordstrike' and 'punch to the dick'...

Yep! It's the most verisimilitudiness and most realistic thing(and I"m being very generous actually!) to have the normal, unpowered underdog... to be underpowered and an underdog. Everyone is happy! They get to mull over over having to carry a torch or a length of ripe while I can teleport...

Yes exactly. Everything you say is factual and everybody is wrong.

Yeah I think the best way to do this is to just make Fighter a completely level 1-3 only class. Everyone else that wants magical stuff gets to have it--if that guy dies or doesn;t have fun, it's their problem for picking something not magical.

Then aything that your fighter has done is magic

No, the designers didn't put it in because they didn't need to.

I'd prefer they be honest and save wordcount rather than justify it.

If Dispel Magic can do that, why can't they make a Dragon's stop breathing rocks/acid/etc? Or make a Beholder blind with it

D&D General Reification versus ludification in 5E/6E

I'm more of a player generally and I do in fact know how the sausage is made; I just do not care if you justify the Hobgoblin doing 2d10 with a longsword instead of a 1d8 by trying to use stuff like 'Hobgoblin Sword Training' instead of just going 'I need this enemy to do decent damage, so let's...

D&D General Reification versus ludification in 5E/6E

I do. Though I'd argue it's more 'making sense within the world' and not the system itself. Giving the tarrasque 'If An attack hits against a medium creature or smaller' makes sense within the world, but it's naughty word within the system

D&D General Reification versus ludification in 5E/6E

I disagree, or more accurately--It's a problem I'm willing to suffer for a more usable Stat line and game design principle I have actual respect for

Yeah, and effort in narration is minuscule IME.

D&D General Reification versus ludification in 5E/6E

As an advocate for someone on the extreme end: Don't waste my time and your page space with such things. Just give me the stat immediately, don't bother justifying it--very few of my players would care and I've gone from apathy to antipathy with such things for a long time(especially in DnD...

Different philosophies concerning Rules Heavy and Rule Light RPGs.

For me I naughty word despise Simulationism. I like rules heaviness to play with the rules, the ludic joy of Lifestealing(deal damage/inflict harm and gain benefit) is what I'm after or balancing what I can do round after round. It is because I want to just fight that I hate wanting to be simulationist.

Verisimilitude is a clown that is trottted out onto the stafe to make the evening better, not a king you should kneel to.
