Why Dungeons & Dragons Isn't Putting Out a Campaign Book in 2025

I think this is the biggest point here, and something they mentioned in recent videos. The big reason the short adventures stopped being profitable was that so many were being pumped out in rapid succession. People didn't have time to breathe or run a module before the next three were being...

Why Dungeons & Dragons Isn't Putting Out a Campaign Book in 2025

As a side note, Dwellers is essentially a part of Tomb of Annihilation.

Why Dungeons & Dragons Isn't Putting Out a Campaign Book in 2025

Despite my snark, while adventure compilations like Quests from the Infinite Staircase and Tales from the Yawning Portal are really useful because you can lift small chunks for a night or three's gaming, it's still a hit to the pocketbook to be buying a book that you might only use 1 out of 5...

Why Dungeons & Dragons Isn't Putting Out a Campaign Book in 2025

Translated - "We couldn't think up a good FR world-shaking event so we're just going to remix books for the next year or so, because everyone wants refreshed existing material because their old books spontaneously caught on fire and can't be used - though everything is totally compatible with...

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

I don't know about anybody else, but I really dislike the name/mechanics of the 20th level Genie Paladin's ability. If it's going to be called Minor Wish, I think it should actually be a lesser version of Wish - In this case, the ability to use any spell off anyone's spell list of 4th level or...

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

Heck, I'd put Legends of the 5 Rings and 7th Sea up there in the same vein (less history, more fantasy). It can be done, just WotC doesn't want to touch it.

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

Oh, there's an upside. People would buy them, WotC would make money. They'd just have to be willing to plant their feet at the "there's no such thing as bad press". But I don't think they have the fortitude for that, they seem to want to be everybody's friend, even when there's already...

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

Agreed. I'd personally make it a feat chain that you can abandon at any time if you don't want to keep pumping upgraded abilities into it. Or we could, y'know just go Old Skool and buy/find the darn thing and use the actual Animal Handling skill rather than tie it to feat or subclass.

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

I guess it depends on how much time has passed since the original founding of the Purple Dragons - if they stick to the current timeline, it's been over a hundred years and it's possible they've undergone some changes (including become a real knightly order with a semi-exclusive recruiting...

New Unearthed Arcana Released, With 8 New Forgotten Realms-Themed Subclasses

I think it would be smarter to make a pet a Feat - one that could be taken as a background feat or later on. Shouldn't have to devote an entire specialty to it via subclass (though a subclass that improves the standard pet, like the Ranger's subclass, I would not be opposed to). And it should...

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

I would be very shocked if they touched Kara Tur, Zakhara, the Hordelands or Maztica ever again other than a name drop. I'd even wager to say we'd get Dark Sun before any of those.

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

Yes, after the trilogy/FR2 - Moonshae supplement TSR put a "lock" on development of the Moonshaes. I'm trying to find the source, but it discussed that there couldn't be Dungeon or Dragon articles written based in it, and there were restrictions on usage by the RPGA - I think only a special...

D&D Adds Two New Books to 2025 Slate, Including New Eberron Book

Wow, covering the Moonshaes? That area has been off-limits for development since the book trilogy! Curious to see what this book will actually contain. Interested to see what they do with the Artificer, though considering how little Bastions changed, I don't expect we'll see any differences...

D&D General Cities - gazeteers, adventures, etc. Please share your resources

https://www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/16815/fr8-cities-of-mystery-2e FR8 - Cities of Mystery Don't let the FR title drive you away; it's a pretty generic take on generating and running city-based games in just about any world and game edition. You can also get it as a Print-On-Demand book...

D&D (2024) MM Reveal Videos: Giants Tuesday 28th and Celestials Thursay 30th

That would be an interesting change .. especially if things like Giant Owl got moved in along with the Dire creatures. Maybe dinosaurs too... Though I still stick with saying that for classic D&D giants, I would have rathered if they'd been made Humanoid (Giant).

The Gith Are Now Aberrations in Dungeons & Dragons

Mostly, I enjoy just going with the original box set. I like Dark Sun's past being mysterious and unexplained, something for the DM and group to puzzle out and fill in for themselves. A lot of the reveals in even the original compilation I wasn't fond of, and by the time the 2nd box set came...

The Gith Are Now Aberrations in Dungeons & Dragons

That was NOT the case in the 2E version (as far as gods go), and that is 4E just attempting to shoehorn everything to its blasted cosmology.
