    Is D&D too complicated?

I totally agree, thats how it was for me, being a new player and having never played DnD before in the past. There's not much math involved, the calculations are easy. Its the all various modifiers that one may forget to include that is the problem. Creating a dual-wielding character still...

d20 bubble bust?- High Prices, too many books

Well in some of the groups I've been in so far, I would say roughly half of all players had at least a PHB. And some of those players often had alot more than just that. Like me

    Mental stability and roleplaying games

Totally agree on this. I used to be like that, I was spending WAY too much in front of the computer playing games and stuff. Going out and participating in a face-to-face RPG group has been healthier outlet for me for social interaction than staring at a faceless monitor or TV screen playing...

d20 bubble bust?- High Prices, too many books

True, although I would guess that it is not as skewed nowadays as it was in the past IMHO. Alot of D20 books that I've bought are certainly useful to me as someone who is exclusively a player.

    Ways to stop a powergamer

Have the DM release the "Rust monster" :) Seriously.

What type of player are you?

Voted haven't played enough RPGs to determine otherwise. Usually I like a balance of combat and roleplaying, leaning more towards roleplaying

    Reinventing Roleplaying Games

Yeah I've sorta noticed that too. Keep up the good work. It would be nice for a site that claims to welcome gamers of ALL RPGs to actually start living up to the name........

    Reinventing Roleplaying Games

Just mentioning the words "d20" or "DnD" on those sites is enough for people to pull out the pitchforks and torches :(

    Reinventing Roleplaying Games

For myself, I'm happy with RPGs being comfortable in its own niche. Would I like it to be more popular? Oh yeah. But I could care less for making it "mainstream".

Sounds like a good idea. I like that this place is (in general) a pretty positive place. Lets NOT turn it into RPG.net part II!!!

What were the last books you bought?

Unearthed Arcana Complete Divine Expanded Psionics Handbook BESM D20 and assorted non-D20 books and supps

Anyone else getting tired of prestige classes?

I don't mind them, though I was hoping that Complete Warrior would include more tips on, say, how to coordinate with other party members to take down the monster. Or perhaps strategies on what feats to use in certain combat situations and whatnot. Somebody should a publish a book on that.

Teach 30 People to Play D&D

Sounds like a good idea to me. The more people introduced into the hobby the better.

    Not sure actually LoL

Vin Desiel almost got Judi Dench to roll dice LOL!

True but those are really good numbers even for a PC game (much less a PnP product). You'd be shocked to know that most PC games don't sell anywhere near to those kind of numbers. But the real question is: how many of those people eventually become certified, hard-core Dungeon and Dragon fans...

    White Wolf

I have their Warcraft core book, Scarred Lands Termana setting book, and various Player's Guides. I also have the Werewolf:tA corebook, players guide and some supplements for it. And of course Exalted. Haven't had the chance to play any of those games yet, will probably do an online game.

Vin Desiel almost got Judi Dench to roll dice LOL!

And you know this how? Do you really think that many people out there know what Baldurs Gate is? A PC game that has had no TV advertising? And what percentage of those players do you really think would actually consider themselves "roleplayers"? Or know what that is? Or even knew that...

d20 bubble bust?- High Prices, too many books

Yeah I would agree that the market is pretty glutted right now. I do also notice the rising prices too. But I do think that $40 for a slickly produced hard-cover RPG book sounds about where pricing should be to strike a happy compromise between making it affordable to customers while helping...
