D&D 4E The Soonest You Would Purchase 4e

When I was 13 I had a large stack of basic stuff (Rules Cyclopedia era), and I snagged 2e as soon as I became aware of it (back in '94 I think). 3e I pre-ordered as soon as I could, whereas I waited for 3.5 to appear in the FLGS. I'd like to think that I would hold off 4e until I can make an...

Dawn of the Dead in DnD?

I can see this kind of scenario being less NotLD, and more like The Last Man on Earth/Omega Man in D&D, with intelligent zombies roaming the streets after dark hunting for the last few survivors. That and your average PCs would be likely to set up a safehouse and go out looking for fellow...

Dawn of the Dead in DnD?

I've been pondering a campaign like this for a long time now. My first 2e adventure was 'Night of the Walking Dead' for Ravenloft, Night of the Living Dead is my all time favourite film, and I just luuurrvve zombies :) I've run several adventures involving the rise of the dead, but in all...

    Dragon #350

Mmm, very much looking forward to the Wee Jas article, (mainly because one of the players in my Age of Worms campaign has developed something of a romantic interest in Amarris, leader of the Green Lady cult). Anything I can get to flesh out their religion will be very well recieved. Oh...

    Dragon Subscription - UK

Something other than the subscription deals seems wrong here. Namely the prices people are quoting- Ulric, you say newsstand price is £3.99 for Dragon, and £5.99 for Dungeon? Yet I pay £3.50 for each at my local Smiths. It may not be a good idea ot e quoting erroneous prices in your attempts to...

    Dnd when you're bored.

I don't spend much time on characters- as DM I don't get to play them :( , but I tend to doodle the notes for about a half dozen different campaign worlds each week at work...then forget them for the next six months.

Content for Game Trade Magazine #31

Hey Andrew, while you're around- I can't find Game Trade in either my FLGS or the mail order store I use- any way I cxan subscribe directly to you guys? Or is this just an anti-brit thing :) (Joking of course)

Anyone for the Interdimensional Dungeon of Planar Peril?

How Would You Hide Your Secret Necromancer City in The Swamp?

Maybe the swamp is alive? The whole area is sentient and the Necromancers are servants of this vast lesser deity, serving it and in turn being protected by it...as for giant beetles- look up the Devestation Beetle in the ELH- a perfect fit.

    Dr. Evil or Scott Evil?

At one time my villains would all be the Dr Evil type- and the players would rush in and tear them apart halfway through a speech. Imagine their surprise when theyt entered the throne chamber of the liche-lord Korath Thrallbinder and he instantly laid into them :D Ever since taking two...

    News Reporting Poll, Take 2

I don't think that is true, or fair MonkeyBoy- Morrus is one man doing an excellent job with little in return save ad revenue, shop profit and our kudos. Nobody I know can live on appreciation, and the man needs to make a living doesn't he? The objectivity is still there, but we've all gotten so...

    Multiclassing Mania

Multiclassing as a character concept still works just as well, if not better, mechanically as it did in 2nd edition, especially now that Human's are not restricted from doing so IMO. The main benefit my group has commented on however in 3E has to be the prestige class concept. Multiclassing into...

What was wrong with the DnD Movie?

The main problems I had with the movie seem to have been addressed- Idiot Lizards posing as Dragons, No real spell content and crappy Beholders. Along with those though- what the firk is that thing in Damodar's head? And did anyone else notice the Orcs in a Human tavern? Huh? Very bad, very...

Which of these two directors would you choose for the next D&D Movie?

Droogie, no I didn't like T2- the first movie is a classic, and one of my all time favourites..Judgement Day just felt to me like a remake with big effects. And I detested the whole Arnie as a good terminator idea..bleh.

    Iconic Hottie!

Lidda? Too frickin small- now Mialee is a hotty. Besides the exotic Elven look, Elves are flexible...really flexible. :)

Which of these two directors would you choose for the next D&D Movie?

I have no idea what you guys are talking about- there is no D&D movie. Same as Terminator 2, Alien: Ressurection and Batman and Robin never got made :)

    My Wishlist for Erik Mona

Hmm, given some of the stuff we've seen on the market before, I can only hope that Erik will tread on the more unusual side for future Polyhedrons- more Whispering Vault, Xero and Hol, than Bughunters or Giant robots- IMO Besm does Mecha best anyway.

    What's in the next Polyhedron?

Dark*Matter D20- pretty please? If not, then I can dig ninja too- and robots.

What are the classic adventure modules of 3E? (with a tally!)

So far, The Witchfire trilogy wins out for me- Undead hordes, a tidy plot and an interesting villain, all combined with beautiful artwork and A+ presentation- Nice. Rappan Athuk is fun, but needs too much work to be a true classic, and the adventure path is a little too A-B-C for my...
