Online Poker shut down in U.S.

This is actually confirmed by a number of big online players. There was a boom a 5 or 6 years ago, then the minnows got devoured and now players that were regularly winning in medium stakes games had trouble playing consistently well in low stakes games. Plus a massive influx of European...

    4/19 DDI Update

I was speaking specifically about the Character Builder, not the Monster Builder. Did you submit the A4 printing problems to WoTC, or is it listed in their known bugs? If not, then maybe they don't realize that it's such a big issue.

    4/19 DDI Update

Now let's be honest here... They already have been delivering on the Online CB, though maybe not at the pace some expect. It was launched as an inferior product, I will give you that, but they've made up for it and it's actually quite good now (save for item management, and that's coming in a...

    4/19 DDI Update

Be careful not to misquote something and get yourself set up for a false expectation! :) What Trevor said in his release was: Emphasis mine. He didn't say in May, but in a future update. It was a bit confusing because this tidbit followed a sentence regarding the May updates.

HBO Orders a Second Season of Game of Thrones!

I didn't get a chance to see John from Cincinnati, but I did enjoy Terriers quite a bit. Admittedly, Terriers may have done better on HBO than AMC, since, as Steel Wind pointed out, HBO programming isn't driven by advertising dollars and therefore 1 season of viewership won't weigh as heavy...

HBO Orders a Second Season of Game of Thrones!

"You must spread experience around..." What he said. :) (my brief explanation is so lame now by comparison...)

HBO Orders a Second Season of Game of Thrones!

HBO is one of the few networks that actually let series run for a while before killing them. This is why shows like The Wire, OZ, Rome, Sopranos, Deadwood, etc. all seem to do well. Its possible that word of mouth will bring even more viewers over time.

Online Poker shut down in U.S.

I know that PokerStars never had a problem transferring money right from my bank account and I didn't have to use some strange off-shore credit-card processor either. You would think with all the poker tournaments on TV, and all the poker site advertising in those shows, that this would be...

Online Poker shut down in U.S.

So, yesterday or sometime over the weekend, the FBI shut down and forbade access to PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Ultimate Bet, and a few others. Apparently, there were some sketchy banking practices on the back end that gave the FBI and other agencies cause to completely shut it down for all...

    Game of Thrones: spoilers discussion.

Kzach and Starman, I believe the little changes are there to help fit this into 10 hours of film. Obviously, there are subtleties that won't make there way into the script, though I believe that the "story so far" is pretty darn close to spot-on. Yes, I wish the Danaerys/Drogo scene was...

    Game of Thrones: spoilers discussion.

Obviously, they had to do a few things differently to squeeze it into 10 episodes in 10 hours. My opinion, they kept the right stuff, re-jiggered the stuff that was peripheral to telling the story but still kept the point across, and left out some stuff that really does nothing to drive the...

    Game of Thrones: spoilers discussion.

My mom watched most of it and thought it was a bit too gory, but her husband might like it. Note: My mom is 70 yrs old.

    Winter is coming... tomorrow

That was simply amazing. I suppose I could write paragraphs about, how good of a novel-to-TV adaptation it was, as well as how gripping the story felt... and yes, they ha d to cut some minor stuff, but it was spot on, they let the background scenery, and/or unspoken scenes tell a lot of the...

    Game of Thrones Sneak preview

And because it runs 1 hour 5min, my DVR decided to record Family Guy and something else at 9pm and It won't record GoT until 11:15pm. Damn you prerecorded preferences!!!! Even when I moved it up the priority, since it runs into 2 "hours" it "intelligently" moced the recording to 11:15 to...
