RPG Print News – Mongoose, Cubicle 7, Evil Genius, and More

I do have to say that I rather like the Skull island book, though I wish it had more Godzilla in and around it. Hopefully they can get the Godzilla license too and continue fleshing that place out.

D&D General Baldur's Gate 3 will now be releasing August 3rd on PC and September 6th on PS5, increased level cap, race & class details and more

I'd love a fiber provider, but we're at the end of a DSL strand, and so we expect Fiber is the last thing on anyone's mind for our neighborhood. ATT Uverse is a measly 50 MBit here because of it, and we're surrounded by a sea of fiber households. :(

Long campaigns, Besides D&D and Pathfinder

Delta Green has two now: Impossible Landscapes, which might be harder for some GMs to run, as it's more meant to mess with your mind, and Iconoclasts, where the heroes are agents sent to Mosul during the 2007 ISIS insurgency.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Movie Review

Lets be fair: You're going off of a series of click bait articles that SAYS they said it that are designed to get you to read their articles by saying outrageous things. I've stopped reading most gaming media if they have more Ads than content on a single page, all of the ones posting this are...

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Movie Review

Yeah, I figured having other magic using characters would distract the audience from while Simon was so special.

    How Do I Escape D&D?

I've always found the best way to learn a new system is a One-shot adventure at a Convention. Presumably the GM running the event loves the system and has written a good module to explore the system. It's relatively risk free and investment free, the worst you can do is burn 4 to 5 hours on a...

WotC: We Are Not Making AI Dungeon Masters

Some are, many are not. I don't think it's fair to lump them all in the same bin. The ones who are making breathtakingly shrill videos today, those guys are. But quite a few said their piece and are working on new/different projects.

WotC: We Are Not Making AI Dungeon Masters

One of the designers posted on twitter that it's not their purview to talk about the OGL, rather only about things like this. Feels a bit like punching down is only allowed ,but not punching up, but it's just the corporate lifestyle I guess.

WotC Talks OGL... Again! Draft Coming Jan 20th With Feedback Survey; v1 De-Auth Still On

I'm far from an apologist, but I'd be willing to have a true Open License that is modifiable through some sort of agreement process to modernize it. It should be modifiable in some way, but not revokable. I'm willing to see what they come up with as long as they agree that content is ok...

WotC Talks OGL... Again! Draft Coming Jan 20th With Feedback Survey; v1 De-Auth Still On

I'd bet they feel like they have to get rid of 3pp for OpenDnD to fully own their ecosystem for when the new DnD beyond hits. (Gotta fully monetize that ecosystem dontcha know). I don't see them budging on this one except as a dire last resort.

The Last of Us (HBO Max)

First part was to show that they put down people who have it ahead of time. There was a sign on the wall talking about onset times after infection, and when she tested positive after the cut on her leg I kinda knew what was going on. The body dumping part was a work detail that he was...

D&D 5E Casual player responses to DMs planning to avoid WotC 5e/1DnD rules

We've been around the block a few times, and are in the process of playing several different systems anyway: Pathfinder1 Savage Worlds (several settings) 3, 3.5,4, and 5E Call of Cthulhu Fate Core Star Trek Adventures to name a few. We've more recently settled on more 5e games than others...

    Gen Con Haul 2022

Picked up Achtung Cthultu GMG, Player's Guide, and adventure from Modiphius (and running the intro adventure at an upcoming con), a Strahd promo mini from WizKids (along with the Crit Role NPC box), a bunch of maps for cheap from Studio2 (4 for $10), and the Star Trek Tricorder set from the...

D&D 5E Announcement Next Week--What Hints For Upcoming D&D Books?

I was wondering if there would be a Marquet Critical Role book, very similar to the Wildemount book, I figure with Campaign 3 being set in Marquet that that would be on the table for this year or early next. Otherwise I am hoping for a Spelljammer/Planes book, that would be fun.

RPG Crowdfunding News – Delta Green, Tome of Heroes, Mausritter, and more

As someone who has been collecting the Delta Green books over the past two or three years, their packaging is simply top notch. Their 384 page mega adventure, Impossible Landscapes, is impeccably packaged with meticulously designed and period appropriate art and handouts. Horror RPGs may not...

    When Fantasy Meets Africa

I'd like to see Paizo with a book exploring more of the Garundian continent at that point. They've done some good work with the Mwangi expanse, but only hints really so far in the Skull and Shackles book. There have been some juicy bits with Old Mage Jatembe and Magaambya as well, but a good...
