    2007 Judge Selection

I felt the same way. I used to lurk around ENworld some years ago, and recognized a few of the ENworlders, but that was about it. Crothian was, for me, the "biggest" name in part because I pay attention to who is reviewing RPGs since I'm still striving to become better known as a reviewer...

    2007 Judge Selection

I think that in future years it would be great to do the whole thing about two weeks earlier. That way judge nominees who haven't decided on Gen Con yet will know if they should make definite plans.

Generally humble things directly related to the character concept. Lost a family to an orcish invasion? "I wish my family was alive and well." Had a comrade fall to Lord Foulheart? "I wish Bill was still with us." Local town having financial woes? "I wish Glendale could pay its taxes."

    Atlantis

Atlantis: The Second Age, an OMNI system using RPG put out by Morrigan Press that updates and expands upon the pangea-like Earth adventuring setting published some years ago.

    Fallout

Looks neat, thanks for the link! Hopefully it can beat out Darwin's World for my post-apoc setting of choice. Darwin's World already strongly reminds me of Fallout.

    Eberron...is it worth picking -up?

I've played Eberron extensively, and one of the things I love about it is that there's always something new to do. Whether it's classic swords and sorcery, pirates, crime drama, politics, city based adventuring, or anything else Eberron supports it. No matter what neat new system WOTC puts out...

Cast your vote for the ENnies Judges starting Monday!

Nope. I've been wondering when it will go up (and back down).

Strong: Lots of review experience. Lots of experience judging products thanks to active participation in RPG.net's Gaming Index. Thanks to law school training, ability to accurately absorb large amounts of information in a short time. Weak: My qualifications are clearly different from those...

    2007 Judge Selection

It's RPG material like any other RPG material. Whether a game line is in print or not isn't important to me. First, some aspects of a product can be evaluated no matter what. Clarity of discussion, editing, art, and other factors are universal. Second, I have a very broad experience but so...

Does it flow? How connected to the product is it? Does it draw me in or stimulate the imagination? How is the editing? Clarity of communication, use of examples, and general flavor considerations are all important. I consider the former from a more utility oriented perspective - how...

Questions from GwydapLlew: Do you plan on playtesting any of the material? Nope. Sometimes material gets playtested anyway, but only because my gaming group gets interested in it. I consider playtesting to constitute a minimum of 5 sessions or 20 hours of play. Will I build some characters...
