Thank you for posting this! I hadn't yet heard of Wave, but I can see sooo many uses for it. "Play by Wave" games could be REALLY cool.

How are Dragonmarks handled? What place do Dragonborn have in the setting? Tieflings? The Feywild? Shadowfell?

Actually, the guys behind the new Cortex system worked on Alternity and it uses a lot of the same concepts. In particular, it also uses the "dice step" mechanic. I highly recommend it!

Indeed it is. I really hope Cortex catches on with more folks. I've been working with it to build a sci-fi/fantasy campaign for about a week now and I'm super impressed.

Despite what Amazon once described, it is softcover only. On the plus side, it comes with a code to download the PDF for free. :D There is no way to get Cortex in hardback at this time.

I've recently stumbled upon the core Cortex rules and I'm very impressed. I plan to run a homebrew sci-fi game using them and I'm pretty excited.

I for one would like to formerly request a new Toolbox book focussed on Modern/Sci-fi. That'd be a real good way to get another $50 from me. :D

I'd skip Fantasy and Magic. Fantasy really isn't that helpful to veteran fantasy GMs and Magic is a book about only one way of modeling magic in GURPS. At least, don't get Magic until you've seen the "default" magic system in the Basic Set and are sure that's how you want to do it. If so, it's...

People buy the hardback at full price. They aren't likely going to also buy the PDF at the prices they are asking. Therefore, they pirate. I'm certain that if there was a way to get the PDF for <$5 by showing proof you have the hardback, sales would more than quadruple. But apparently WotC...
