Looking for a good paladin example (TV/Movie)

PERFECT example would be... Peter, from Chronicles of Narnia. Deity would be Aslan, which in that universe is perfectly legitimate.

Photos of the new Gnome (PHB2)

...I thought that was assumed. My exact words still stand. Except I suppose now I'll clarify that I'm talking about the eladrin-gnome parallel which, in my opinion, has little merit.

Photos of the new Gnome (PHB2)

But they're nothing like elves. They are from the feywild, and have pointy ears (which is everything in the feywild). Other than that, their mannerisms, background, culture, character, likes, dislikes, tenancies, and mechanics are completely different. What is it I'm not seeing here?

Photos of the new Gnome (PHB2)

I find the new description of gnomes to be quite sufficient. And I find them unique. Sure, people can call them mini-elves, but they still have many distinct characteristics. They're not just "pranksters who like illusions and gems". If anything, that's what they were in 3rd Edition. Now, they...

Photos of the new Gnome (PHB2)

I am absolutely a fan. They look kinda ruthless. Also, with strong fey orientations, I feel like they have more character. And they're more unique in the previous edition. They're not silly anymore, and they're not just halflings with magic anymore. I feel like they're their own unique thing...

    New Penny Arcade Podcast

Wow. Thanks for gettin' back to me one that one, Mr. Rouse! A job well done, and quite a bit more engaging than Keep on the Shadowfell was last time around.

    New Penny Arcade Podcast

Wil Wheaton is awesome. He'd fit in with my group seamlessly. I wonder if this is meant to resemble a published module, or if this is just Chris Perkins winging-it. Either way, very cool!

    Minion House Rules

And wow, I also didn't realize that it's also each creature in burst. So if the minions have reached the players at all, and are intermingled with them, you're doing a fair amount of damage to your own party to kill those minions.

    Minion House Rules

I suppose. But then, the fix is that minions should instead go down in maybe 2 hits? Or maybe 3 hits? It's that much of a departure from 1 hit? Also, are we all throwing our minions out it one mass at the beginning of the battle? Should DMs instead use waves of minions?

    Minion House Rules

I have a question. Why is it that most people don't like how minions work to begin with? I don't mean to antagonize, it just seems that the intention in "fixing" minions is often unclear. They're very simple to use as-is, and I'd like to understand more about why these kinds of edits make...

    Fox woman

Very interesting concept! A beguiling werefox... very cool! I do have a few thoughts, however. I hope you don't mind my sharing them, from one monster designer to another. For example the domination is a little easy to recharge. In a large encounter group, she could easily have a party...

    Are these good house rules?

I think mostly what these rules stem from is a lack of respect, understanding, communication, or trust with your group. Most of your "rules" are really just things that can be solved with an honest conversation. And most of them are, at the core of them, about making the players play the game...

    Gaming and Me

QFT I'll be all about gaming for six months or until a campaign ends, but take a two month break here and there when I get my own case of burn out. Just not that interested. Then I'll see the latest article on Dragon, realize I don't have the latest supplement, and my first thought is "Man...

tabletop rpgs-are they really games? or rather a "fun" interactive experience

What a game "is" is completely subjective. Game can be chess, or checkers, or board games, or sports, and fit conventional definitions... or not. It does not necessarily include a competitor, because there are games you can play alone (solitaire, etc). Also, anything can be a game to someone...

    Rules Lawyers Are Funny.

Hahahaha, nice! A lot of my players are used to hugely exception-based monsters, so the conversation for me sounds more like: "I shift into flank behind this monster, and-" "You take an opportunity attack." "No no, I shifted" "I know you did. He reels around with his scimitar and takes an...

    Playtest: Primal Power

My absolute wish is that the updates to the GSL include things from Player's Handbook 2 such as the Summoning keyword. MAN, would that open up doors  Poison Ivy Press will be all over that

    Tips for expediting 4e Encounters?

Power card help immensely! We photocopy from the book, paste onto 3x5 index cards that leave room for notes. Then my players hand me any powers they expend, and I hand them back out when applicable (encounters after a short rest, dailies after extended). There are a hundred ways to do it, but no...

Oh, of course! I'm in love with it! But it doesn't leave room for more freeform styles like what you've done here with the White Dragon.

Top 10 Reasons Why I Just Don't Care

I suppose. And in many cases there is not. But it's an extremely personal issue, that often (when discussed) becomes personal. Not only that, but it's a conversation that has been hashed out constantly. And people have obviously expressed it's not a conversation they're interested in having...
