D&D 5E Minimum ability scores for a PC

I'd use the standard array more often if it would guarantee that my characters could have one score of 16 after racial adjustments, no matter what the race is. It's my single biggest pet peeve about 5e. The playtest had the right idea, making the starting array have a 16 in it and having racial...

D&D 5E RE: Tarasque vs. 5th lv. Wizard scenario - how does Wizard know to use Acid Splash?!?

Took the words right out of my virtual internet-mouth.

D&D 5E RE: Tarasque vs. 5th lv. Wizard scenario - how does Wizard know to use Acid Splash?!?

Mirtek, if you get hit with the greataxe, you die. I've never ran it any other way. HP are what you lose to *avoid* being hit. A "hit" in D&D doesn't represent an actual physical connection of the weapon, it's more of a "holy :):):):):) this axe-wielding monster isn't letting up and is tiring me...

D&D 5E RE: Tarasque vs. 5th lv. Wizard scenario - how does Wizard know to use Acid Splash?!?

I dunno, I think that "ignore the rules" is a pretty decent piece of advice in this case. Maybe, RAW, the Tarrasque doesn't work, especially if placed in a large, open area with nothing to throw. However, this would be a terrible use of the Tarrasque, and is a situation that I hopefully never...

D&D 5E RE: Tarasque vs. 5th lv. Wizard scenario - how does Wizard know to use Acid Splash?!?

Well, sure, 1d4 + str if a PC threw it. And even then, I'd be inclined to bump it up. This is a building we're talking about, not a glass bottle or a table leg. I see no reason why it shouldn't deal at least 10d10 + Str damage if it hits. BTW, where did you get the 60 ft range thing? I'm not...

D&D 5E RE: Tarasque vs. 5th lv. Wizard scenario - how does Wizard know to use Acid Splash?!?

Like I said, Paraxis, the DM just has the Tarrasque throw a building/boulder/large object within reach. Let's see that wizard cast Acid Splash when he's crushed under a bloody church spire.

D&D 5E RE: Tarasque vs. 5th lv. Wizard scenario - how does Wizard know to use Acid Splash?!?

See, people who argue that the wizard could beat the Tarrasque using Fly and Acid Splash are assuming that the DM is going to run the Tarrasque using exactly what's on the stat block, and no more. Then the Tarrasque throws a building at them. +19 to hit, 20d6 + 10 bludgeoning damage (basically...

    Fury Magic Sorcerous Origin

Hey, I've always loved the Wilder psionic class, and so I put together a Sorcerous Origin that I feel works as a spiritual successor of sorts - Fury Magic. FURY MAGIC Your sorcerous origins are shrouded in mystery - perhaps they the result of some ancient demonic pact or a fey creature...

    Fury Magic Sorcerous Origin

I have just uploaded Fury Magic Sorcerous Origin to the downloads area. Just put this together, coz I really like the idea of a Sorcerer who's magic is powered by their emotional state. It's sort of a spiritual successor to the Wilder psionic class, which I always liked. You can find the file...

D&D 5E DungeonScape Beta Gloat Thread

Got mine. I'll probably end up actually submitting feedback for this open beta, rather than just messing around with the software and gloating over the internet like I usually do. ...I'm the worst kind of beta tester. :(

[D&D 5E] Hombrew races for the Changeling, Revenant, Kobold, and more!

Hey guys, I thought I'd share these will all y'all. I got bored a week or so ago and hammered out some homebrew for my favorite "weird" races for D&D 5th Edition. Hopefully I did the work right and they aren't too over-powered and/or boring! Feedback is always greatly appreciated! EDIT: Oh...
