the reason i think atleast some of the mecha could be man portable si that atleast the smallest are listed as large weapons. and large weapons are man-portable, but needs to be deployed before use. those that go into the huge range im not sure about tho. starship weapons do not drop below huge...

hell, breach loading cannons where considerd more or less insane at one time iirc. but that was before they worked out all the issues. now its standard on all warships, even tho one is more and more moving to missiles for ship to ship engagements...

remember to throw in a gadget that turns mecha weapons into man portable weapons. thats the best solution i have come up with so far when faced with taking down a mecha without using another mecha (alltho given that im then using mecha weapons its very close to using a mecha).

well, sorry for trying to inform some people on this thread: "hey, they did come out with rules for mecha as walking tanks. it just wasnt in d20 future". it seemed to be one of the big issues people had with the mecha rules from d20 future...

ok, badly worded post. but what i was trying to say is that d20 future tech (that follow up soft cover that wotc released) have rules for turning the d20 future mecha into battletech style walking tanks.

sadly im mostly only interested in third party material if the local store have it as a dead tree kinda product... pdfs bought online do not realy do it for me, no matter what the quality material they contain...
