    Experience points and leveling...

Well, the whole concept of levelling and experience points is abstract, really. IMC we 1) only level characters between sesions, never mid-session. 2) XP are awarded at the end of the session. 3) Any new spells are not available until preparations are again made. I realize that this is...

Rogue/Specialist Wizard attempting Use Magic Device for the prohibited school

Easy now;) I'm not saying that this should be a restriction. It came up last night over some beers and I wanted to be certain. Now I know, thanks. Cheers

    How do Dragon's attack?

Point taken, Staffan. I just meant to emphasize that dragons can be cunning opponents (and linguists......;)

What the ....! I just logged back on and much to my surprise saw the quintuplets I birthed. My computer has been acting up this afternoon. Apologies :D

    How do Dragon's attack?

Tail Slap does listed damage + 1.5 x STR bonus. So does Crush and Tail Sweep - though not applicable for this particular dragon. Dragons prefer to fight from a distance and will use their spells, breath weapons and other abilities before engaging in melee combat. Remember, dragons are frickin'...

    Attacking while wind walking

We simply do not allow any attacks whatsoever while in Wind Walk. We rationalize that without any physical form you can't do any physical damage. It is a travelling spell, and a very useful one at that. Keeps it simple.

    help word a wish

I tend to agree with Darklone that it is too powerful for a Wish. But that is up to your DM and not us. "I wish to be impervious from death caused by aging." It doesn't matter how new age you get, old age is gonna kick your ass - Utah Phillips;)

    Everything in 3.5e doesn't suck!!!

Hot tea or Iced tea? Bagged or Loose? Infuser vs. Tea Ball? :p Southern Iced tea rocks, but a good cup of hot Jasmine tea can stir the soul...... I echo Kaji's sentiments about consolidation of errata and the above mentioned changes. But just think of all the new illustrations! And the fact...

Does the spell failure chance from armor apply to using scrolls?

I don't think it's that unbalancing. You can't predicate your argument on one spell (Shield). Scrolls still provoke AoOs and cost XP, gold and time - an entire day. Preparing a Stilled spell takes very little time. Besides, if a fighter takes a level in Wizard they are sacrificing BAB, HD...

The finer points of creating an Undead Frost Giant

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to give it another Special Attack which will bump the CR up to about 10 or 11. Hey, Savage Wombat (or anyone else who knows), where is it stated that undead advance as wizards? The MM seems to indicate that they advance at half the rate of a wizard (Total HD...

The finer points of creating an Undead Frost Giant

I am creating an Undead Frost Giant for my campaign and I could use some help with calculating some of its statistics. This is a conversion of the Frostmourn from Dragon #254. Here's what I have thus far: Frostmourn, Huge Undead (21') HD: 18d12 (108 HP) Initiative: -1 (Dex) Speed: 40' AC: 20...

    Ready action outside of combat

ouch I missed the EE winning initiative. My bad. The PCs fought a huge EE IMC last winter and boy were they surprised when it came right through the wall after they retreated down a narrow passage into the "safe" room. :D Cheers F4
