D&D: Is this the Golden Age?

in regards to walmart's listing of 3e PHBs on it's website: Yep, but they brought the price up to $18.87 now. It used to be 37% of of $19.95. Now it is 5% off. The Monster Manual is the same price, but 37% off of $29.95. Interesting. They do list the ELH, and you can pre-order the MMII...

D&D: Is this the Golden Age?

In my estimation, correct on both counts. And I'm *not* taking a stand on which recipe of core plus add-ons is best. I certainly enjoy playing 3e with and without Prestige classes. I enjoyed AD&D before and after Unearthed Arcana. At once, the game felt the same, but different. Probably I...

D&D: Is this the Golden Age?

Well, about a month ago, www.walmart.com had 3e PHBs for $13.95. Sure, it isn't normal retail, but that's getting closer. --evil_rmf

    Forgotten Rums....? Evil Overlords...?

I agree with you there. I also agree with the previous post saying that there can't be much pure crunch left. If Wizards of the Toast spins off all the fluff, what else is there to do? Now add this to the mix: The existing crunch is already too overwhelming to new players. Two years ago...
