    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

"The Jilted Planes," Eurid answers Graydon. "It's near enough a faction's kip to be safe, and friendly to primes if the rumors are true." He leads the way on through the ward toward the towering stacks of the Foundry, keeping peery all the while for any danger.

I'll put in my nonbinding vote for the full PC.

D&D 5E What separates a sandbox adventure from an AP?

I stand corrected. I was referring to the use of the term "Adventure Path" more than claims of what earlier modules might retroactively qualify, but it appears even then I was mistaken. Wikipedia says the first recorded use was for the Sunless Citadel and following modules.

D&D 5E What separates a sandbox adventure from an AP?

Correct. The first "Adventure Path" was Age of Worms, which premiered in Dungeon Magazine. It stood out because the magazine published an adventure in the series each month for twelve months, which was unprecedented. A1-4 is a pretty good example of a proto-ap. I would sooner point to the GDQ...

I don't really understand the significance of the Performance thing. What are we rolling? Sorry, I'm juggling multiple editions in various games and just don't really know 5th that well yet.

    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

"If you don't like deaders, then you've come to the wrong end of the multiverse," Eurid says. "We're all dead here." He clicks his tongue again and rotates a finger in the air. "Looks like we're walking, modron and all. Stick together. Don't be a sucker. And somebody put a leash on that...

D&D 5E What separates a sandbox adventure from an AP?

First, this series of articles is a great resource for anyone looking to run a sandbox, even if you don't want to dig into the mechanical bells and whistles of a hex crawl: http://thealexandrian.net/wordpress/17308/roleplaying-games/hexcrawl Now, for answers to those specific questions...

    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

"I take your meaning," Eurid answers, still grim. "But that's a bleedin' barmy-box. A working modron has enough curiosity to kill a hundred cats--nevermind one that's dripping Styx." He looks around at the others, seeing their reluctance to abandon the thing. "Alright, well... not exactly...

    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

Eurid scowls at the sorry state of this mongrel, then at Halo and the other fellow who are so eager to mock his misfortune. He pulls a gold coin from his purse and offers it to Surok. "Go and have a hot meal somewhere, cutter," he says, turning his back on the lot of them and preparing to tell...

    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

Eurid remains distracted from the scene going on behind him as he negotiates with the collectors. He gives Surok a grim look, noting the flinch. He half expects the shrouded figure is a zombie, but he'd better be sure. "Well, I won't swap jink with a pimp," he says to Halo. "I'll deal with your...

While the compliments are pouring, let me add that it's a real privilege to play Planescape with someone who really gets the setting. Thumbs up.

"I could pull the teeth myself," Eurid offers, eyeing the bundle. He assumes it to be a dead infant, and possibly too young to have what he needs besides. "But if they're not yours to sell..." He watches the woman who delivered the bloody parcel as she scampers off into the depths of the slum...

    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

"Just a ghost, my wee chit," Eurid answers. "All bluster and hokum. Nothing to be concerned about." Eurid gives Nukri a whistle as they approach the stinking cart. "Oi, cutter," he says. "I need ah... let's make it ten teeth. Call it a copper?" He'll negotiate on the price. "Any dark worth...

    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

Eurid smirks before nodding to Graydon. "This berk has the right of it," he says. With some careful thought, he manages to find his father's dialect buried somewhere in the back of his mind. "There'll be trouble along shortly, eager to bob... er, take advantage." The paladin produces his holy...

First to the collectors, then, to purchase a handful of teeth. Eurid heads to the mouth of the alley and pauses to see who wants to follow.

"Ears on or not, as you will--but let it be on your own head," Eurid says. He spins about, pointing at everyone he can see in the alley and keeping a tally on his fingers. He makes sure to add two for the effigy and fairy that he can no longer see. The drunken devil makes the list as well. "Lot...

    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

Eurid has been around the block, but he's never seen a dragon. He's certainly never imagined he might meet one in Sigil. Fortunately, the thing's sudden appearance in place of the frightened fairy is enough to make him suspect illusionary magic. Besides, if he's wrong, then death is not...

I won't usually ham it up so much on the Sigil slang, but I couldn't resist it while chastising Picayune for his dialect.

    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

Eurid lets the urn go, setting his hands on his hips and watching it bob about overhead. When he hears the message, he shakes his head. Barmy deaders always chuffle the blankest screed. "Indecipherable gibberish," he complains. "So you're not Toma's ghost, then. That's well and good. Doesn't...

    D&D 5E [D&D 5e] Planescape - In Through the Out Door

Eurid monitors the levitating urn with all the cynical carelessness of a true Cager. "You've had your rites, Toma," he barks in a commanding tone. "Don't go clinging to this falsehood now. You're so close to the end." He doesn't want to get his holy symbol involved yet, so simply goes to swat...
