Fairfield / New Haven County Connecticut Looking For Players...

Heh. That's my old stomping grounds. I used to live in Newtown. None of my old gaming buddies live there anymore, though.

    No love for Oathbound?

Joe, I find it hard to believe you actually READ Oathbound. Penance (spell it right, please) got the most attention in the first book because the first book was basically laid out as a general introduction to the Forge, plus enough detail on Penance to start playing. Otherwise it wouldn't have...

[IRC] Seeking 2 or 3 players for new campaign

Yes, but it has been a while - a year or two at least. I don't think anyone remembers it. You know what they say, "What have you done lately."

[IRC] Seeking 2 or 3 players for new campaign

The PC's are members of the Royal Irregular Guard, composed mainly of "adventurer" types. They do all kinds of "special" missions for the Crown, and have something of a "three musketeers" reputation. The PC's have been commanded to transport one of the King's younger princesses, Amtienne, from...

    Doom Striders

"The mechanics of the Doom Striders creation are important. If the mechanics were horribly wrong then the whole book would misfire. What we're actually given in Doom Striders is a decent set of mechanics. There's nothing that knocks my socks off here but there's nothing that makes me sigh, close...

    IRC: Oathbound

We're experiencing some of the usual IRC player attrition in this game, and we could use two or three new players. Email me if you're interested in joining. Details are already in the thread.

New PDF RPG - Adults Only!

I'm fairly certain "diet" means it's lower in calories. Those electrons, because they can't be burned as fuel in, well, ANYTHING as far as I know, are a completely zero-calorie product, whereas the print version could concievably be eaten by a goat or something, which would be able to extract a...

Do publishers fear the John Cooper review?

If every author who hated writing stat blocks quit the business, it would be pretty hard to find good authors.

    Comeliness and Charisma

Yes, Comeliness is a dump stat, which is why I don't use it... but at the same time, I don't include it in Charisma either.

    Comeliness and Charisma

Personally, I let players describe the way their character looks, pretty much any way they like. I, in turn give major NPC's preferences when it comes to physical appearance, especially when they might be the target of things like seduction attempts.

    Gaming Without Alignment

So under that system, a man that had just finished eating a baby after roasting it over an open fire would be affected by a Blasphemy spell?

Physics question about moving through air and water.

Morrus has it right. Sheesh, when are you guys going to learn that when you mix real world science with magic, you get nothing but trouble?

    The Nature of "Lawful"

The act is chaotic. The character is lawful, mostly.

    Should magic be unfair?

Okay, let's take a narrative viewpoint. In the Star Wars universe, when the Emperor throws his force lightning at Luke, he doesn't immediately die, in spite of being wounded and weakened. Why? Because he has to live long enough for Darth Vader to save him. Surely, the Emperor (who had hardly...

The False Dichotomy of "Fluff" and "Crunch"

Either you don't understand the terms, or you're insane. Provide an example of this radical concept.

Is kicking a helpless offender unconscious brutal?

If your character is LN you should have said so. And yeah, I question how the two of you ever generated any trust in the first place.

    Dms, dont you wish

There are LOTS of games out there that are MUCH more rules-light. DnD isn't the only RPG, in spite of what WotC would like you to think. Here's a whole pile of them: Free Indie Games

Be all that you can be, for free!

Wouldn't the breast implants fall under the topic of improving morale? And as far as the liposuction goes... yes, soldiers are supposed to be fit, but believe it or not, you can be fit and have a significant amount of body fat.

    Price points for print books...

How often do you see something this short, in print? I can't see it being profitable.
